Does anyone knows if my credit score will be affected if I don't pay my cell phone bill ? ... ever. Thank you
My company is charging me an amount I know it's not accurate ( but It has happened before and I always ended up paying for it, but this time I'm not willing to pay for it since I was thinking on switching companies anyways ( I don't have a contract anymore ) Thank You!

Cell phones companies don't report to the credit bureaus. However, if you have an unpaid bill, it will be sold to a collection agency and the collector will put the derogatory item on your file.

If the charge is wrong, fight it out in writing with the cell phone company now. And keep all the documentation. These are the kind of aggrevating negative items that pop up on credit files years later just when you are trying to buy a house.

yes it affects your credit score. nd it can go to collections!

DaLady
Yep, it'll show on your credit score. Even if a credit card company or morgage lender will lend you money after that they will raise your interest rates because you are a risk.

I am sure that your credit score will be affected...At some point the company will turn your account over to a collection agency, which will then (if not before) be reported to the credit bureaus. If that happens, you may not be able to get another phone.

elmer007
YES! they could affect your credit in a negative way if you do not pay your balance. Even if you do not agree with it, PAY. After you pay you could still argue for that money. Just have a zero balance because they will report you to credit departments. And experian, equifax and transunion do not care if its their mistake, all they look for is payments on time.
Goodluck, pay it and fight it.

Not paying will not help you. You will end up dinging your credit and the extra interest the lenders require you to pay will make the cell phone bill seem like nothing. If you do not agree with the bill dispute it with the company formally, that way if there is any issue later on you will have proof.

Yes you have to pay it.

They will hit your credit score and it will be on there for 8 years.

your choice.

With or without a contract the phone company expects you to pay your balance..If you fail to pay they will turn the account over to collections,...and this will affect your score...The collections account will stay on your credit report for 7 years and other creditors will be able to see this....That being said it's not a good idea to not pay...If the amount is not accurate and you let the company be aware of it...I don't understand why they would not adjust it to the right amount...anyways...You should just try calling them up and see if they will work with you...

yes it will effect your credit score.....its better to pay off this bills to stop it from further ruin your credit..

If you are not able to manage your bills. There are bills consolidation program available out there in market. You can go for it. They will consolidate your bills into one single affordable payment after negotiating with them which you have to pay them and they will distribute it among your creditors.

Here is the source of a debt consolidation company named http://ezconsolidation.com for your reference

Yes it will go on your credit, but most companys such as at&t, sprint,t-mobile and verison (verison is the best) if you call up to there customer service and explain that you will not pay it because you did not run up the min. or whatever and tell them that you will cancel your service if nothing is corrected so on and so forth they should correct it for you. if you no longer are under a contract they will go above and beyond for you because they want to get you back on a contract with them. it sucks if it goes on your credit but it really will if you walk away and then go to get another provider because they will see that and charge you a deposit. hope that helps

I actually had the same problem. My cell phone company was charging me for calls that were never made. And they lied to me when I got the phone saying that I could call anyone else that has the same company for free. They charged me for the calls. I did not pay the bill. It went to collections. They called me and I settled for less than half of what I owed. Try that route. It's better than it staying negative on your credit report.
