yes it does...they will do a credit check and every time there is a credit check on you there is a ping on your credit score |

As long as you leave it open for a good amount of time and be sure to pay it off on time. Opening 2-3 credit cards and showing your ability to pay it off on time will raise your credit score b/c it shows responsibility. There are a few things one can do to raise their credit scores such as paying loans back on time as well. Good luck! |

People will say everytime there is an inquiry it decreases your credit score and it does minimally. However, it goes back up again quickly unless you open multiple credit card accounts and pay late or max out the credit limits and just pay the minimum.
I am loan officer and have had customers complain that their credit score is so low because of all the inquiries. That is just wrong! Your credit score is effected by your payment history, and the amount of credit you're using and it's manner. |

Yes, anytime you apply for a loan or a credit card you lose a few points from your credit score. It is called an "inquiry". |
