It's not so much being denied, it's the inquire...so you have to be careful about asking for credit. It doesn't make sense that it hurts your credit score by asking for credit...but too many inquiries will. If you'd like to learn how to repair/build your credit then visit

I have heard that it takes a couple of points off every time you have your credit report pulled..for anything, not necessarily just for credit cards. I t is also hard to get the points back. Start with a secured credit card..it's one of the easiest ways to go. |

Not enough to worry about it. Don't get stupid and get 10 credit cards. |

applying for multiple credit card will,
though what is typically figured for is that all incidents in short period count as one as car dealers will typically send out loan application request to many affiliated banks, who in turn all pull credit reports, the scoring system takes this into account |

Not enough to really worry about. But if you are getting turned down for credit cards, there is something wrong with your credit profile. You need to get a copy of your file and start working on making it better before you go out and apply for more credit. |

Applying for credit for anything will decrease your score, up to 3 points. The easiest way to get a credit card is to apply for a secured card. There are some banks that require you to open a savings account to back the amount of that you're applying for. If you're able to get it, use it wisely. Also you can have your payment history up to 3 years back reported by signing up with PRBC. Rent, utlities, cell phone, day care, practically anything that has a recurring monthly payment can be reported. Also they offer an online billpay service that automatically reports it as well |
