Yes it can do. Myself and my husband went bankrupt about 5 years ago (we are discharged now) and we had 3 CCJ's each, when we came to rent our house we are in now it showed on our credit rating, and it can stay with your credit rating for about 3 to 5 years thereafter as well. You can get a CCJ removed from your credit rating. If you look at the Insolvency Website it tells you more on there. Also get a copy of your credit report from Experian which costs about £2 and now you can view it online, its definately worth it. |

CCJ's aren't attached to an address, only to a person.
It used to be the case that bad credit affected an address, and consquently everyone who lived there, but the system was changed as it was so unfair.
However, if you have a CCJ against you, then its attached to you, so whereever you go it will affect you until it drops off your credit file after 6 years.
If you have paid in full, you can apply to have it marked as satifisfied and then its not quite as bad. This costs £15 and has to be done though the court that gave you the CCJ. |

I'm afraid so my Friend... its all changed now so effectively its not your address that gets blacklisted but your name so it follows you where ever you may go! you can check your credit rating at experian.co.uk aside from that until you clear your debt you will have a black mark for i believe 6years... however if you pay the debt off then you will have a satisfied mark next to your name... hope this helped...good luck! |
