Does too many credit checks affect your credit scoring?
I've had a few credit checks done recently when shopping for loans and stuff - can that affect your overall credit scoring - cos other than that my history is near on perfect so i don't know why i have a low score.

Yes this will affect your credit score to many inquiries in a short amount of time will also raise flags to lenders that you are searching quickly for credit which usually means that you are in some sort of money trouble, best to shop are and ask questions about loan types and average rates before you allow them to run your credit, there are lots of other things that can affect your score, just because you have near perfect credit does't alwaya mean that you score will be high example being that you credit may be perfect but your debt to income ratio may also be high mean that for your income level you have a high number of debts, credit it a very hard thing to understand sometimes, if you have other questions about your credit than pull a free credit report that you can take to your local bank and talk to a laon officer there and see if they can help you figure out what is causing your score to be lower than you think it should be. Best of Luck I hope that this as helped you.

Yes, It doesn't matter if they were successful or not, when firms are searching your records it just comes up as a check which ultimately goes against you.

Yes, too many credit checks can have a negative impact on your credit. There are other factors that have more of an impact though, such as: late payments, collections, bankruptcy and maxed-out credit. For some beneficial information on credit and how the bureaus determine your credit score, do some research at www.myfico.com.

yes to many will hurt your score and they last for 2 years on your credit report.. so if u have more then 6 its too much

Yes, everytime your credit is checked you lose 2 points!!

Low score is either you don't have enough credit, or or any cards you have they are not enough 'free' credit, meaning your close to max on the cards. If you are shopping for a car, the credit company knows that where ever you go they are going to pull your credit it. some dealerships will put your credit out there for a few companies to pull and see if they can get you the loan bcuz they want to make the sale. If you are looking for a car it would of been better to call around to a bank and get your own money through them so that the dealerships don't pull it so much.

Yes it does effect your score, give it sometime before you check it again. And it is important what kind of credit you are looking for, make sure that it is important. Don't apply for just any card. The way they want it to set your self up to buy a house is having 3 lines of credit-3 cards open with 30% being used and the open line being at least a year. Treat it like gold, very careful, it is very important.

i have been told that it can as it looks like you are trying to get varios credit from a range of sources. however it should'nt stay on your file too long if you don't actually take out the credit facility.
