Hey .. You are a good person. Don't beat yourself over it.
We are not trying to nibble @ the profits of small business owners when once in a while we have to charge a very small amount. Sometimes, we can't help it. Blame it on the technology :) |

I am sorry but I hate places that don't take cards I just prefer cards then cash. Cash makes me insane burning holes in my pockets. |

It doesn't really bother because i never carry cash with me so, i swipe my card for $1 soda. What gets on my nerves are people that still write checks in convenience stores. It's totally with in their rights but, it just time consuming waitinig in line. |

I have not used cash in almost 2 years , that Credit/Debit card is just too handy !! |

I'm guilty of it and yes I think it's absolutely ridiculous. I use my bank/check card for nearly everything and rarely carry cash. I'm even guilty of looking for something else to buy just so I don't have to "charge" such a small purchase. I don't like using my card for anything under $10 -- but I do . . . |

No, not at all, not since I've been doing it myself!
What made me craziest was being at Target once behind a mother and two teenage girls, all chit-chattering away. Then when the mother had to pay, she acted surprised and started fishing through her purse for her checkbook and DL. The girls both laughed and laughed. Then when they each had to pay for their few items (always lipstick and nail polish), they EACH pulled the same crap! Looking surprised that they actually had to pay and then starting to fish around for money to pay with!!! Aaghhhhhhh!!! |

Sorry but use my DEBIT card all the time, easier than writing checks. Easier to track also.
I know it looks like a credit card. You have heard of them. |

as a consumer, i think it is more convenient than having cash.
as a business owner, i HATE it! especially visa. the fees are outrageous and i end up losing money on the transaction.
but then again, as a consumer, i hate when stores (our local dollar tree) posts signs that says the will not accept debit for purchases under $7. that's illegal and if their credit companies found out, they could get into trouble. i also hate that they won't take credit cards.. only debit.
it's a win/lose situation. |

Nope (I feel a bit stupid when I do it myself, like you) so in that respect I never worry about it when someone else has to do it, I figure it is their time at the check out they can do as they wish.
I actually had some grouchy old dirt bag say something to me once - he thought I swiped it for a soda - but I had purchased gasoline as well. I told him off!!! |

this is completely the decision of the buyer. you can do nothing about it unless the seller has any problem. |

No...what do I care about how much they spend? It could be $2 or $200....they're still ahead of me and I just want them to hurry up. Swiping the debit card is faster than digging around in the bottom of their 20 gallon sized pocketbook!
I say....just hurry up!!...LOL |

Hey Cheta! *HUGS* Hope you're having a great day!
Anyways, I've been known to do this a few times. There were times I just came to get a paper, and I think I have a buck in my wallet, but I don't. So I had a charge on my debit card for 35 cents!!
If you stood behind me in line that time, I sincerely apologize. But I'll star ya!! :) |

NO, because I do it. If you don't carry cash you have an excuse not to give money to beggars. Put your money in the back and use it to pay off your credit card every month that you swipe in stores. Why? Credit rating, ever think of that one? OR it could be a single parent that's hard up that month and just needing the decency of a credit card company to help them through tough times. Stifle your inconsiderateness and impatience and consider yourself lucky that you're not in their shoes. |

No cause its just the sign of the times.. and most people dont carry money anymore.. sad but true.. look at the comercials you see on t.v. now a days.. i.e. that visa comerciall. everything running smoothly until someone brings a check or money than they look at them all funny. |

Oh yeah, I work in the food service industry and people will swipe their cards for a 50 cent refill or a 75 cent item. But I know that not everyone carries cash or loose change. |

Why? Some people find this easier than carrying cash. It means each month you get a statement showing all your expenditures. You need to find more important things to worry about. |
