Like Bryan said, when "you" pull your own credit it does "not" hurt your scores because it would be a "soft" inquiry.
There are two types of inquiries
Soft inquiries - which do not hurt your scores.
Examples of softs -
When you pull your own credit.
Creditors or other types of companies purchase your credit from the CRA to send you junk mail (aka promotional pulls).
Creditors you currently have accounts with that like to keep an eye on you and your spending habits, looking to give you increases, decreases, offer you other products, close your account, etc., etc.
Collectors that already own a bad debt for that particular person or is looking to purchase bad debts that the person may have.
Hard inquiries - which do hurt
Examples of hards -
When you apply for credit.
You only want your report (not for credit or loans) and ask a company or a bank to pull your credit report for you.
A collector that owns a bad debt and just wants to make the debtor suffer just a tad more.
Rarely but it does happen, when an existing creditor is asked for, or decides to give, a credit limit increase. (for example with Home Depot, if a person clicks on the credit increase button online and gets a form to fill out - hard inquiry. If a person calls them for an increase - hard inquiry. If a person goes in-store and asks - "usually" soft).

yes it does affect your score in a negative way.. but that doesnt mean you shouldnt do it. you should just not check credit to many times in one year.. and i dont think there is a way to check with out putting in cc info. |
