EBAY QUESTION im not paying credit card or cheque but im paying by postal now how does ebay know if i posted?
the money or not do they give u a special envelope or do u send ur own please i need help with this im only new

The seller will notify e-bay once your payment has been cleared. Ordinary post will suffice. You can also click your method of payment on e-bay site.

fanella
you send it recorded get proof of posting

eBay doesn't get the money; the seller gets your money, then posts feedback on your transaction.

alrightyyy_then
on my ebay there will be a list of things you have won. it will automatically light up the payment sent box if paying by paypal but otherwise u have to tick the box urself. you dont really have to do it but it shows the seller on the other side u have done it. just use an ordinary envelope. i always used to put my postal orders in a card so no one knew what was inside. make sure u write ur address n postcode on back incase it gets lost or something aswell. and ask post office for a proof of posting. you dont have to use recorded delivery - its usually a waste of money and more than often the postman wont ask for a sig - amount of times it happened to me until. and with proof of posting u will still be covered if it goes missing. more info on it will be on royal mail site

Mrs.Doyle
As your first respondent suggests.
If the seller does not receive the money, he or she will lodge a complaint of non-payment with ebay and they'll notify you, or the seller may email you before starting a complaint.
Same applies if you do not receive the item you bought.

onlyme
this is how i pay for all my stuff from ebay, when you win the item the seller will send you there name and address,if they don`t email them for it,just go to the post ofice ask for a postal order and then send it recorded delivery that way you have receipt of postage and you can also check on the royal mail website to see if the person has signed for the delivery by putting in the code on your receipt.

Kedi
You send your own but its worth sending it as recorded mail with a tracking id so you can confiem its reached its destination and you have proof you sent payment if you dont do this you dont have a leg to stand on if anything goes wrong

nmc_grath
they dont but they dont send ur stuff til they get da post order then they wil send u ur stuff

The seller will give you their name and address, you post the postal order to them and once they have received it, they post the item on to you.

placidma
as above and when you go to your ebay select postal payment make sure you get proof of posting and be sure to only transact through ebay and not private sale.. got burnt once!!

Dave X
You just enter payment sent on the ebay site.
There isn't proof as such other than what you say
