check with your bank if they have any credit cards with a low APR. they usually have good rates for current customers |
|

HelloHello!
 |
Kay Jewlers...they usually willl give you a very small limit around three hundred and you have to put down 20% of whatever you buy...buy something pay it off right away and in six months they will redo your credit and take away the 20% down. |

The best way to bump your credit score is to use credit cards, BUT PAY THEM OFF AS SOON AS YOU GET THE BILL. Dont drag it out for 6 months payng on 300 dollars. Dont spend more then you have!!
Otherwise, you are going to get involved with all this spending and not realize how much money you really owe!!
USE CREDIT CARDS SMART!!! |

There are many credit cards available to people with poor / no credit. Orchard Bank and First Premier are two of the most popular issuers. You'll also have to decide between 'secured' and 'unsecured'. Since you won't pay a security deposit with an unsecured credit card, I would try that first.

You might want to try First Premier.
From what you're describing you don't have a high credit score. The hard truth is you have to pay the fees to get a credit card now. Have you been applying for multiple credit cards? If you apply for a credit card an inquiry is placed in your file. Too many will lower your score. Each credit inquiry will stay on your report for one year from the date of the inquiry. After six months of no credit inquires a person's credit score will begin to recover.
I know you don't want to pay fees, but if you get a card designed for people with less than perfect credit, you have a chance to start building good credit history again.
Once you have good credit getting a credit card with no annual fee will be no problem. The better credit you have the better interest rates you'll get on a car loan, mortgage, etc., and that can save you thousands of dollars throughout the course of your life. |

you had a card and you missed a few, neglected a few, and forgot a few payments, but you finally got it paid off. what? 3 years later? if you want to rebuild your credit (i speak from experience) is do not fill out every application you see. this looks on your credit report like you are desperate for credit and flags go up. accept the $300 (or more) secured card. it does not work quite like you think. the deposit is only used when and if you do not make a regular payment as per the billing agreement, exactly the same as a non secured card. but as you 'charge' something, and make payments just as if it was a non secured card, it shows to the credit granter that you can handle the responsibility of having the card. after a set period of good activity on your card, the deposit is returned to you including interest. and at that time your credit limit may be increased.
to rebuild your credit may take years. you have to start small and then take small steps. if you have only had one card think how hard it must be for someone that had ten cards or more and then had to declare bankruptcy. for him it's an almost impossible task for many years. just because you have it does not mean you have to use it. |
