Unless you are bidding on property there is no reason to ask for your credit card info to make a bid. This is a possible rip off, stay away and contact e-bay about this.
When you are at the bidding site, check to see if the address bar displays https: to confirm it is a secure site.
Bids of property sometimes require a deposit called payment in earnest, which means you are a serious bidder.

Hi sh do yourself a favour pop down to your post office and open a deposit account and ask for a solo card, only keep a £100 in it and use that for any ebay or infact any internet payments then if things go wrong you can only lose what ever is in there, and its easy to close down and reopen another one |

If it is a maestro cc it is mastercard.

You do not have to list your credit card number to place a bid on ebey. Make sure you are on the real ebay site and not a hoax. |

You should pay for your items through paypal, its the safest way to buy and sell through ebay as your covered up to £500 against fraud or non received items. Paypal accepts all major bank and credit cards, visa/mastercard/maestro/solo/visa electron etc.
The card number is the long 16 digit number across the middle front of the card, you will also probably need the 3 digit security code which is the last 3 numbers written across the signature strip. |

to the eBay UK Answer Centre (you can also find this from the eBay home page then, Community > Answer Centre > Bidding & Buying.)
The replies you'll get are from other members (much like here), but they can look at the item for you and see if it's genuine.
If it is, you'll need to use a card that shows the Visa or MasterCard logo (Maestro has neither) and the card number is the long one that goes right across the card. |
