Some do. If you use it as debit and put in your pin number they charge you the same fee they charge for using an ATM from another bank,
Debit cards usually have a Visa or Master Card logo. This means it can be used as a credit card. If you do that-- the funds still come out of your checking account but you don't get charged the fee. So when the cashier asks you "Debit?".. You say - " no credit". When you swipe it.....you have to hit cancel or exit or what ever button they have and use it as credit. |

It depends on your specific bank and the circumstances. Most I know of don't charge for purchases but they do charge for using it as an ATM card. |

Only if you use it to pull money out of another bank. |

Some banks do. Use your debit card as a credit, provided it has the VISA/MC logo. It is cheaper for the merchant and you as well. |

No. The only time you get a charge is if you use the ATM for a different bank, and then the charge is from the bank you used, not your own bank. |

I use U.S. Bank. There is no charge for using the card if you make non-pin charges. Say at wal-mart tell the cashier you want to make the purcase as credit rather than debit. If you get money from an atm you will be charged. The charge is only 25 cents per transaction. |

Not when you make a purchase. You may be charged a fee for withdrawing $ from a non-bank sponsored ATM |

Most people pay a set monthly charege each month and this determnes how many transactions you can do with your card. I have a plan that allows me unlimited number ot debit transactions and cashier trips. My previous plan allowed me 25 debit transactions a month a maximum of 3 trips to the cashier.
Check with your bank what plan you are on. |

Best to check with your bank, as every one is different. At our bank (Dollar Bank) the bank actually PAYS us for using our debit cards. We get .10 for every time we use it like a credit card and sign, and .5 for an online bill pay. They save it up and give it back to us twice a year. We'll get ours soon and we have almost $40.00 accumulated from all those little dimes. |

They shouldn't charge you for purchases. I've had five different banks and none have ever charged for using my debit card.
Now if you use an ATM machine to withdraw money from your debit card, and the ATM machine is a different banks, then yes, your bank will usually charge you. So will the ATM machine. |

No. Obviously you just have to look at your account and the transactions and see how much money they took out. You are charged a monthly fee for holding an account with the bank, unless you have free checking. If you get cash out of a bank that isn't yours then they charge a fee (2.00 bucks or more). But, every day use for using your card, no. |
