I actually work for a bank, so I deal with this all of the time. Technically they are able to get there money just fine. The reason they have you sign the receipt is if you decide to dispute the transaction. They will need a signed receipt proving it is you who made the purchase. |

The store will still get the money - the biggest issue will be the person who counts the cash register (manager, or whomever it may be) will be "off" in the credit card receipt column.
They will most likely figure out that one is missing (due to the numbers on the receipts) and re-print it.
Another way to think of it - when you buy things over the phone, the seller never has a receipt with your signature. |

Hey girl, I'm in pTND. aND can't type worht a damn on a laptop..so expect a short one. From my former days in retail, Ido not think they need the paper copy..it's only a backup in case of a problem. |

This has happened to me before. It will still go through and get processed as a transaction on your Visa account. The cashier should of kept that copy. I never took the receipt back when it happened to me and all was ok. You could call the store and ask, if it would easy your conscience a little :) |

I've accidentally done that before as the cashier.. I told my manager and all he said was its ok dont worry about it, u checked the i.d right? I was like yea then he was its fine. Once that card slides through it already charges your card so the signature doesn't stop the charge or anything. |

no you do not need to go back
just think, if you asked for a copy for some reason, all they have to do is print one out from the cash register, it is in there..the new ones have a memory that protects them
also it wil show up on the credit card paperwork and they will get their money
so do not worry be happy.....
