There is no quick fix for credit. If there are mistakes, get them corrected. If there are valid issues, you just have to wait for them to drop off, and put as much good info on there as you can.

you need to have more details. are there reasons your credit is bad. do you not have enough credit. paying bills on time is important. don't have extended lines that are not being used and paid. if you have something negative on your report take in account how long it's been there as long as they are not updated things drop off after 7 years.

if you can take a simple loan or secured loan and pay it off. use it only to build and secure your good credit history.
best advise talk to a few loan officers at different banks (just don't let them run credit checks on you right away as too many will also look bad) to get their input

Many people will tell you that you can do this yourself. You can with a little help. The key is to have the language of your letters correct. The wrong verbage will get you thrown into a turndown stack and possibly blacklisted. Additional tips will help you as well. I have had success with a do it yourself credit repair kit that costs less than $20.

To Repair credit score
Your credit score is based mostly on:

1. Length of credit history
2. Payment history.
3. Ratio of credit used to available credit.
4. Number of credit inquiries you authorized.

If you cancel your card, you'll be hurting your credit ratio. (#3).

You want to deliberately keep your oldest credit card open, even if you never use it.

You want to always pay the minimums of each loan on time every month.

You want to keep your available credit high, but actually only have balances equalinig 25% or less.

You want to keep your credit inquiries to a minimum. Try for no more than 3 or 4 per year for any type of loans.

You do these things and your credit score will quickly soar into the 700s.

How to fix your bad credit, well you will find a lot of good information at www.MyFico.com which is a website sponsored by the 3 credit bureaus that give you a score (Equifax, TransUnion and Experian)

On this web site you will find probably anything that you wanted to know about your credit score

First, make sure all the information on your credit report is accurate.

Second, try to pay off all or any accounts that are currently in collections or make payment arrangements with the creditor to pay off the balance monthly.

Third, any credit card that is over 50% of the available credit line should be paid down to under half of your total credit line. Your credit score is lowered when your available balance is over 50% of your total credit line.

Finally, if you have bad or no credit and have no credit cards try to obtain two credit cards and make sure all of your monthly payments are made on time. This will help increase your credit score. If you cannot be approved for a unsecured credit card, obtain a secured credit card.

You can never "fix" bad credit. That's a bit like trying to put back together a house that you've torn down. You might get something out of it, but it will not be exactly as before.

Though it does take time, several years, you can start replacing that old bad credit history with a new good credit history. Get and keep a good job. Put away some savings. Don't spend more than you can afford. And always pay all your bills on time. Do that and your credit will eventually improve.
