Everyone is entitled to a free credit report each year. You can get it at annualcreditreport.com. It gives you one from all 3 credit bureau companies (Equifax, Transunion & Experian). I do this every year instead of getting one from one of those free credit report companies that enroll you in their program & that you have to cancel before the trial period ends. |

I don't have bad credit, but the more accounts you have that are good the better, as when one or two get behind, it hurts your score, but not as bad as if you only had two accounts and they were both bad. Say you had ten accounts and one or two got behind and you later caught them up, your score would still be OK, but if you only had two or three and two became behind, you would be impacted more as two thirds of your credit is bad as opposed to twenty percent. Request a free report from free annual credit report.com. Good luck, and remember without good or at least decent credit you can't do much in this country. |

Probably hundreds nowadays. Credit reports aren't always consistent either, so I guess it's down to which system the organisation uses.
I was £40k in debt on my credit cards two years ago, had lost my business, yet to my dismay my credit report was good and I could get a mortgage - Not what I wanted to tell the Judge during my divorce.
Nowadays my credit rating is almost zero in my opinion, yet one of my credit card companies just upped my limit by £5k, up to a ridiculous £22K.
I guess they work off old data on occasion.
Experian offer free credit checks - beware and cancel the free trials before you pay, but what you may not be aware of is the fact that every time you check your report, it affects your credit rating. |

well, lets see here. It doesn't matter how many negative items you have on your credit report, it matters what your score is. Someone could have really good history with there creditors yet, have filed a bankrutcy. The higher the score the better. (the highest being 820.) If you fall below a 650 you can't get approved for a low intrest home loan. You may get a car note, but again, your interest won't be the best. Your credit score is your life! You must keep it up to par, and keep others from destroying it. It's all you got in this material world! Good luck! :) |

you can check out your credit report at freecreditreport.com
it'll send you or you can print out the info for your whole credit, and then you'll see the bad ones that should be taken care of!
