Clearly false.
A few funny things.
First, do you remember entering into the lottery? No?
Second, why do they need your credit card?
People have all sorts of scams for getting money from you.
Simple rule of life: if it seems to good to be true, it probably is. Double that for anything involving money. |

If you go to freelotto.com on the top of their page they have a notice of Fraud Alert. They explain that many of those letters are being sent out and it's not from them. They would like for all the registered users to forward them the email that is received.
Freelotto.com will not ask you for your personal information, if you are a winner you will know because you can check the results yourself. They will send you an email or call you then they will tell you how to claim your prize. Usually all they ask for is identification, your legal status and a picture of yourself. The picture is used to show all their registered users that someone has one a prize; it's mostly shown for legitimacy purposes.
Hope this information has helped you. |

Did you receive a letter from FreeLotto.com? See the link below for a fraud alert from FreeLotto.com. You will not receive the cash prize promised in the letter.
http://www.freelotto.com/fraudSample1.asp
This is a scam. FreeLotto.com is a legitimate lottery site run out of the UK and they have samples of the fraudulent letters being sent out under their name. A legitimate lottery will NEVER ask you to pay money or give out credit card information in order to receive your winnings. |

Drama. It is illegal for someone to enter you in a lotto without your knowledge. It is a scam.
It is also illegal for a US citizen to play an overseas lotto.
Never ever give out any personal info to these, regardless how legit it looks. When in doubt, contact your local poilice dept. or even your bank. |
