If you haven't already, call them and ask for an itemised bill going back 7 years, then take from there. Sounds like a mistake to me. |

Ignore them. Do not respond. If it ever comes to court the onus is on them to prove you owe them money. |

Hi, I used to work in Debt collection.
You need to request proof of this debt from T Mobile ie copy of all bills relating to the outstanding amount.
Dont pay them a penny until you have all the proof and you are satisfied that this is owed by you.
You are within your right to demand copy bills for this supposed debt (free of charge) |

Phone them up and tell them that you have not been with them for 7 years and that you had paid yours bills up when you left, if you get no joy tell them that you will put it in the hands of a solicitors, that may put them off ,if don't see a solicitor and get them to send them a letter it will cost you about £35 to £40 but if it dose the job it will be worth it. |

First of all, call them. They may look at your record and say that the letter is from someone else trying to con you. There was a Watchdog programme on that a few months ago.
If they say that you do owe them money, then you need to go to MoneySavingExpert and ask them what to do. This website is a not-for-profit advice site and is run by Martin Lewis and he's great. Or you could call Watchdog, they often rerun articles if companies are still misbehaving and they can give you free advice.
I hope you get through this. Citizen's advice bureau may be a good place to try too. They are also free. |

1) Someone at TMObile records may have done a mistake. :)
2)Or it just might be a letter from some scammer. But don't ignore the letter it may be genuine.
3) If genuine:
I suppose you have not got the bill payment receipts with you now. IF you do..you can produce them and prove your point.
If you paid by debit card, you records should be available from the bank (? hopefully) or have you kept the statements?
If any of the above wont help, don't just contact the person from whome you got this. Email that person sending copies to customer service and someone higher up in the customer management division, so they would be informed about this matter.
Take a photocopy of the letter you got and keep safe before you give your letter to anyone... better be on the safe side.
Best you go meet someone from TMobile rather than calling them up. Take someone with you as moral support.
Goodluck ! |

i realy wouldnt ignore this letter, as if it has been a mistake (either genuine or whatever) it will affect your credit score if you leave it. yeah the onus would be on them to prove it in court, but in the mean time your credit score will have been dragged through the gutter.
the best thing to do, is to ring and speak to t-mobile directly, they will reveiw the account and see why this has happened.
If they suspect fraud they have an internal fruad prevention team to investigate issues like that.
if you ring and speak to them and have no sucess, then i would advise you to visit a CAB.
I would advise you to ring t-mobile first tho, to find out their explaination of what has happened then you will be more informed when you speak to the CAB.
Good luck in getting it resolved. |
