Getting married doesn't need to be expensive. Buy a second-hand dress on EBay - there are lots of pretty dresses, and you'll only wear it once anyway. Splash out on a beautiful bouquet. You can hold the reception in your local pub - or if that's still too expensive your living-room or back garden will do - you could even rent a small marquee if you have the space. Have your family and friends help to prepare a buffet. Get somebody to play the role of DJ - teenagers are usually happy to do this, as their music collections are usually pretty vast. I known a few people who have done it that way - and they were lovely. Then they used the rest of their money on having a honeymoon. You don't need to compete with all those celebrity weddings you see in magazines. That's just silly, you'd only be throwing your money away. :-) |

if you are getting married in 10 days then all the big stuff should already be paid for, just the little things are probably left to do.
If these 'little' things are necessities then it might be time to talk to both sets of parents to see if they can help out at all, if they are not necessities then it might be worth talking to your hubby to see if you can 'make do' with what you have paid for already....
my wedding last year was the epitome of 'make do' and unfortunately while i do not regret my marriage, i regret the day and how it went.
Hopefully we will only have to get married once so in that respect it should be as close to the day of your dreams as possible. its not as simple as 'its the ceremony thats important, as long as you both are there'
As i said, I'm glad i married my husband, i just wish we had done it differently. so much so i only have one picture of our wedding out on show.
Do what you can to make your wedding how you want it i wouldn't want you to regret your day like i do mine.
