My rating is barely above 600! Does anyone know how I can boost my numbers, I would even be happy with 675+

Thanks!!
Additional Details
U guys ALL rule! I haven't touched my credit in about 2 years, I ruined it back on 03, 04. I need to fix it, I don't like having this score. I cant buy an old dusty, broken boot with a score of 600!

All of your advice is really good.
Thanks!

Wise Credit
Hello,

NO matter what do not close accounts you do not use! YOUR SCORE WILL DROP!

1. Do you have credit cards? How much is charged on them? Try to lower the balance to about 30 or 40% of the limit. This will greatly help.

Next look at your report and see if something isn't right and get that taken care of.

Authorized user will bounce your score to the sky.

There is no pill to take to boost your credit score. I guess that first identifying a problem is the first step to the solution. The question is how committed are you to make the necessary changes to improve your credit score? My first suggestion is to ask yourself to look over your credit history. This is not an opportunity to whip yourself but to look for practices in the past so that you are determined to correct that in the future. Credit scores are a glimpse into how people spend money. My advice: cut down on your spending--make it a GAME. See how much fun you can have without wiping out your wallet. Put yourself on a budget. Some people later take the money from their paycheck& put it into envelopes based on the different budget categories-- say for clothes or eating out. When that envelope is empty, so is the next meal out until the money is replenished. Become a mean lean bill paying machine. Keep track of where you owe money & how much. Pay the bill BEFORE the due date & see how much you can pay down each month. rebuilding your credit score is possible, but it won't happen overnight and it won't be easy. It will require sacrifice, but it IS worth it. Make it a goal & remind yourself of it 3 times a day. Write it down. BEST WISHES!

actually one of the answers here is dead wrong. The one about closing accounts you don't use. That will make your score go down, because 30% of your score is based on how many account you have and how full they are. If you have several open accounts with a low or 0 balance, then you are perceived to be managing your credit well. If your only open accounts are all full then you look maxed out, and that will hurt your score.

The other things you can do is to look at your credit report for negative listings (ie: old debts). If you have any unpaid old debts, contact the company who is handling it, and offer to pay it off in full (or in installments if you can't handle the full amount) ONLY if they remove the entry from your report with all 3 major credit bureaus. They only care about your money, not what they put on your report. 99% of the time they will go for this. Make sure you get their promise in writing, as some of these companies are, shall we say, a little questionable in terms of ethics.

Your score according to UNFAIR Isaacs? I think that system was invented when people would trade donkey's for corn at the general store.

Oh, your question. I paid about $30 for a credit report from freecreditreport.com (I think that is where I got it), and I got reports from the 3 big reporting agencies and an analysis that explained how to improve my score. Of course, check for inaccurate info.

The best way to raise your score is to use a reputable credit restoration program.

To properly answer your question a professional would actually have to see what is on your credit report and then create a plan of attack to have bad items removed or taken care of and account balances adjusted to raise the credit scores.

Try the company below. They are very reasonably priced and come with other great services and perks. I know a few people who have used their credit restoration program successfully.

La dee dah ..
Yes :

Close open accounts that you do not use and don't have a balance on them . They are "Points" that aren't being used.

Look over your credit report and be sure everything is correct .( 1 a year )

Pay your bills on time
Carry one major credit card .
That should help and you will see the score go higher in 1 year.
