You are not forced to pay, however you will receive a non-paying buyer strike and something could happen to your account, like loss of feedback privileges, suspension, etc.
Email your buyer. Tell him your story. Most big powersellers will cancel it for you so that you dont leave them negative feedback.
To do this: log into ebay, click on my ebay, then the won tab under buying, then select contact buyer next to the item you bought accidently.
Hope this helped!

Sorry, once you buy something
from ebay, you have entered a
leagal contract, and you must
pay for it, unless you and the
seller can arrange something.
It would be up to the seller. So
talk to the seller and explain your
situation. |

Well you can speak to the vendor very nicely and hope that they are understanding. Alternatively just dont pay for it, but expect to be left negative feedback and reported to Ebay. If you dont want to receive negative feedback and reported then you will have to pay for it. Afterall, its not the vendors fault that you didn't read the description fully before committing to buy. When you click on buy, it does say that you are entering into an agreement, so unless you have a very fair and understanding vendor, you may have to either bite the bullet and buy an item you dont want or except that you are going to get negative feedback and be reported to Ebay! |

nope they say once you say buy it now you need to buy it now...you can contact the seller on the top of the page on the right hand side and say hey I did not mean to click buy it now, and I am not interested in it..and see if he will revoke it, otherwise you need to pay and if you do not, he will leave you bad feedback and report you to ebay...when you contact seller never go through your own personal email address always go to ebay and and contact him through there, that way there will always be proof that ebay can look up...just ask him if he would not mind a mutual agreement on this...it is worth a try.. |

One you commit to buying the item you are agreeing to a contract to buy. If you don't buy the most that will happen is you will receive bad feedback. You could also not be allowed to use eBay for a while but this is rare and only if you do this same thing often. I would contact the seller and explain nicely to them that you made a mistake. Offer to pay their listing fee. Good Luck. By the way, my wife and I have been sellers on EBay for over 8 years. |

Contact the seller. |

You bought it. You should have read the details before you clicked on buy it now. |

You can contact the seller and ask them if you can not pay for it and they can re list it because it turned out not to be what you want. But they tell you when you click the bid or buy button you are entering into a legal contract. If you don't pay you'll get a strike and they can take more action. But try explaining the situation to them.. |

When you click that buy button on eBay you are making a contract to pay for it. It is your responsiblity to be sure it is what you want before you hit that button. But, you can always turn around and sell the item to someone else on eBay once it arrives and get your money back that way. |

Technically yes, you are in a "legal contract", but most and I mean most of the time sellers are willing to work with the customer. Simply explain to them that you misread the listing and that you're sorry. I've been dealing on ebay for over 10 years and know this can happen a lot. The best way to deal with it is open communication with the seller, especially since they haven't shipped the item yet and you haven't paid for it, they won't lose anything because they can apply for selling fee credits, that way they won't lose money. They just need to contact ebay and let them know that you both have decided to cancel the transaction and ebay will verify this with you as well. Once ebay has both you and the seller stating you have chosen not to complete the transaction ebay will give the seller back their fees and neither of you will have any worries, or be out any money. You can also leave positive feedback even if you do that to make things a little better for both parties. At most, be honest with the seller, people will appreciate that. I do hope this helps and good luck! |

You need to send the seller of the item a question and see if they will cancel it for you. They don't have to but if you hurry up and ask, they may be willing to cancel. If not, just resell it on ebay. |

The seller will be out listing fees and is not likely to let you off. It is expensive to sell on ebay. |

Email the seller and tell them it was a mistake.
The only way is to notify them right after you buy it so they can cancel your transaction. Once it ships, you pretty much own it. |

This is directly from Ebay's buyers guide site:
"A bid or Buy It Now purchase on eBay is considered a contract and you are obligated to purchase the item.
However, mistakes sometimes happen, and many sellers are willing to work with you if you communicate with them openly and honestly. If you have not done so already, you may want to request the seller's contact information and give the seller a call. Let the seller know your situation, and see if you can work things out to everyone's satisfaction.
If the seller does not respond in the way you hope, keep in mind that failing to purchase an item you have won may result in negative feedback, as well as an unpaid item strike against your account. Too many unpaid item strikes in too short a period may result in permanent suspension of your eBay account." |

If the vendor wants to maintain their high ranking, they will take it back but you have to pay the shipping both ways and they have to receive it in the same condition it was sent. |

you have to pay no matter what. but it depends on the return policy and on the seller.
