Lizzard | Has anyone else got this offer? |
I got a phone call from a 'capital card' company. Apparently I was approved for an unsecured credit card with them (and I don't remember applying for it). They are sending me the information and I'll be able to accept/decline then. Anyone else ever heard of this? |

It happens a lot. If you are credit worthy, all credit card companies will send you such offers.
I would recommend reading the fine print for the fees etc. |

If you didn't initiate the call (meaning, you didn't call them), don't give them ANY information. I have NEVER had a legitimate credit card company CALL and offer me credit (and we have excellent credit - score around 800 - and get daily offers in the mail).
Avoid using credit unless it's to buy a house. Keep plenty of money in savings (one account for emergencies and another account for big ticket items, like a USED car), and you will NEVER have trouble getting a mortgage, even with NO credit history. |

no I wouldn't accept it , it could be fraud . the best thing to do is stick to your own bank if you want other credit cards |

I avoid everything solicited to me over the phone. They don't have your best interests in mind, only theirs. |

No, not by phone. I receive many offers through the mail, which I immediately send to the shredder. I'd be very careful. It could be a scam. |

Never got a call but get lots of offers in the mail that I run through my shredder! |

Careful, it might be a fraudulent activity.
If you really want to apply for a credit card, apply one at your local bank. Just be precautious. |

NO, sounds like a SCAM, DO NOT give them any personal information |

Marketing ploy. Ignore it, throw it straight in the bin and don't reply. These companies spend millions on this kind of advertising and operate to a expectation ratio of 10,000 adverts to 1 exceptance. Your not the first and you won't be the last |

-Yep, I get them all the time and after doing a credt report for myself I found it's probably because I have a small amount of credit but the credit I DO have is good.
-Capital One was actually my very first credit card and they're pretty good to go through. Just remember to always do your homework and ask lots of questions before applying or declining for/from a credit card. Read all the fine print and take the best ones and don't feel bad to rip up the ones that don't impress you! Word of advice...always ask to have the application sent through the mail if when they call you on the phone. Nowadays you can barely protect yourself against identity theft. Good Luck! |
