Rose | Has anyone ever heard of Trinity Credit services from Texas?they do credit repair and want$1500 to do 2 people |
I found these guys on the web. They have been in business 10 years. Their rep says for my husband and I it will be $1500 because there is so much to clean off. This seems excessive but I have not ever done this before. I know we can do it ourselves but we have no time. Can someone please advise? |

You can do credit repair yourself. All you have to do is go in and order all 3 credit reports. Then you call and dispute all the negitive things on the report. This is the exact same things they are doing. After you dispute these the creditors have so many days to return the information that the credit bureau sends out. Most businesses never return these, therefore they take it off your report. The credit repairing company is not guaranteed to work. It is easy to do it yourself!! Do not file chapter 13!! That is the worst thing you can do!! |

There is no way to repair credit other than to do it yourself. It sounds to me that these guys might be some sort of crooks. There is a chance that they could be credit counsellors, who will tell you how you can repair your credit, but usually you can get this service for free.
Credit can't be repaired immediately. It is something that takes time, and a lot of diligence. One thing to keep in mind is that having a bunch of credit cards with the limits maxed out is a good way to bring your credit rating down. Another thing that drops your 'score' is missing due dates.
Each of your credit facilities is assigned a rating - with I1, or R1 being the best. The longer you go not making a payment, the higher your 'rating' gets. When a bank or credit card company has written you off as 'bad debt', you will see a R9 or I9 on your bureau. Most lenders look at anything that's R3/I3 or worse as high risk.
As a rule, you should never utilize more than 35% of your credit limit on a card. If you have a card with a $1000 limit, that means try not to carry a balance of more than $350 from month to month. The best thing you can do is to pay off each card in full each month.
It takes time, but credit can be repaired. There is no quick fix. I definitely recommend getting a copy of your report and starting there. Good luck , and don't waste your money. |

Check them out with the BBB before doing anything. bbb.org. It sounds shady to me. |

I have never heard of that company, but that doesn't mean anything...I Do know that you can't "wipe" your credit clean with money (other than paying things on time)...I would check it out more before attempting anything. |

YES!!!! I recently paid them $700 to fix my husbands credit which I have been fighting for 14 years. In a record 35 days they took his Equifax score from the low 500's to 752. All collection accounts, Medical collection accounts, and all late payments were removed including mortgage ones. I am still awaiting the results from trans union, and Experian, but even if they only do half the job they did with equifax I will be very very pleased. I have fought these company's every year with not much results...these guys are worth every penny. I will save thousands of dollars on my new mortgage and lower car loan rates. I highly recommend you take this leap of faith I did and I can't be any more satisfied with their service. They did what no one else could and in record time!!! |

Never hire a credit counseling service without thoroughly checking them out. There are just to many spammers out there.
You would do best if you did it yourself. Not only would you save that huge chunk of money, you would probably see better results than those credit services can give you. In fact, many times people find that they end up in worse shape after using them then they were to start with.
I've listed a couple links. One is to the Rip-off report where people talk about their experiences with that company.
The other is to a free do it yourself credit repair site. Even if you do go ahead and hire a company to clean your credit, you should do some reading in there. Learn what can legally be done. |

DON'T DO IT AT WWW.JICINVESTMENTS.COM THEY SHOW YOU THE SAME STEPS THAT THE CREDIT AGENCIES USE. IT EVEN HAS A LEGAL FORM WITH IT. FOR $15.00 DOLLARS YOU CAN'T BEAT IT. PLEASE DON'T GET RIPPED OFF! |

You will be wasting your money.
The best thing for you to do will be to get a copy of your credit report then send in dispute forms for everything that is incorrect. |

Rose, I've not heard of this company but having been a financial advisor for 15 years I do know that it is impossible to "clean off" a credit report. Time and doing the right thing are the only things that improve a credit report. Spending $1500 for whatever services that this company offers is not a wise idea. If the items on your credit report are valid, they cannot be removed. If the items are not valid you simply need to contact each party and request in writing that they be removed. They are required to respond to your request. This company, Trinity Credit probably does some kind of service but I'm certain that it isn't what you are thinking they will do. Good luck |

ANY COMPANY that promises "CREDIT REPAIR" is a fraud. NOBODY can "repair" your credit once it's been dinged, dented or broken. FRAUD, DO YOU HEAR ME? SCAM! FAKES! RIP OFF ARTISTS!
ONLY YOU, and only by working on it yourself:
You can improve your FICO score yourself--Negotiate balances on collection accounts (depending on age, they'll usually take 30-50 cents on the dollar). Pay down credit cards that are near or at limit.
There, was that worth 1500$, because that's what they're gonna send you, a folded up piece of paper with that advice on it, and probably a solicitation for a high-interest personal loan.
DON'T DO IT |

Why no time? There is NO legal way to repair your credit other than pay off all your debts. Period.
You can get a bill consolidation loan from your bank and pay off all of your high interest consumer loans. |

credit repair companies are a ripoff, bad debt is bad debt. order your 3 credit reports and check to see if all is correct. if there are legitimate errors dispute the items with the credt reporting agency (equifax, transunion, experian) , one of three things will happen. #1 company reports valid and will stay on your report #2 company finds error and adjusts accordingly #3 no reply to to the dispute within 30 days and it comes off the report.
the trick with the repair companies is they dispute everything and hope for #3 to work for them. some companies have archived debts and do not respond, some have sold accounts and have no record, some companies are no longer in business, and some just do not bother to respond. all of these will result in deleation of records. also look at your report to see when last update was done by a company, the older it is the least likley they will respond. these credit repair agencies try to flood the credit bureas with repeat disputes in hopes one will be missed or not responded to within 30 days and can claim no reponse to dispute. the agencies have monitring now for frivalous disputes (repetative) and can stop the process. Your cheapest way is to dispute everything bad, see what you have left and work on it with the crediators from there.
Good Luck |

Personally, for $1500 I would make time to do it myself. Sounds like I need to get in that business. LOL |

Take the $1500 and pay off some of your smaller bills. This will improve your credit rating. Then, make sure to pay a little on your other bills as often as possible. Any payment is better than no payment. |
