Do not ever, ever go with a loans company that want money upfront, they are robbing you blind.
They make enough money on the interest so do not need a fee
go here for advice: www.fool.co.uk |

There are a lot of companies advertising as companies, but all they are are affiliates of the same companies. So all they are doing is processing the same details, possibly doing repeated credit checks (even if they say they dont, they do). They say you can get a loan, send you the paper work, but when you sign the agreement you need a guarantor who has to be squeaky clean financially. The £50 fee just makes them look through a phone book that you could do for yourself. Experience speaking.
There is one company check before phoning that you are not phoning a premium rate number. |

no massive interest rates don't do it. the lower the rate the better. shop around if you can as it may look ok now but you will either be paying it for absolutely ages or at a high repayment a month. try northern rock they are very cheap and took us on, which is saying something. |

Do not do it. It is a major scam. Any reputable company will not ask for any money up front. |

Check with Trading Standards; I heard it was illegal for them to ask for an up front fee... |

Dont be fooled - they take your £50 telling you you are "approved" for a loan and then get back to you a week later and say no sorry your application has been declined. This happened to my Mum! And the company was Yes Loans
Go to a more reputable company! |

Sounds dodgey to me. You shouldn't part with cash for a loan, they get enough out of you in interest.
Go to a decent loans company like direct line, nationwide, someone with a good reputation! |
