This is the only place to get it 100% free: www.annualcreditreport.com
Other places may enroll you in a fee-based program, for taking advantage of their "free" offer |

annualcreditreport.com It's not a scam and doesn't cost money, you get a free copy of your report from each of the three bureaus. I choose to get these separately since the scores tend to be fairly close, that way I can keep an eye on my credit throughout the year by looking at one every four months. This doesn't include score, you have to pay for that everywhere, but this is the government sight that allows you to view your report. |

http://www.annualcreditreport.com offers a free report. It does not offer a free score; only the report is free there.
The only semi-legitimate offer of a free score that I have seen requires you to sign up for a service that is free if you are able to cancel within a month and do so, but for which you will otherwise (if you fail to cancel in time or are unable to cancel) be charged, theoretically for the rest of your life, unless you eventually manage to cancel. |

There is only one website that offers real credit scores for each of your credit reports (Equifax, TU and Experian). That is
http://www.myfico.com
It is not free at all: $50 for all three reports with scores. The site belongs to Fair Isaac company that developed the algorithm for the score calculation and that formula is a secret. The real credit score is called FICO and it is calculated for each credit reporting agency individually.
Other sites do offer real credit reports but they DO NOT offer FICO score. They offer FAKO scores (estimation of your FICO score based on their own formulas; +-100 points accuracy). Generally speaking these FAKO scores are nothing but garbage since they have no practical value: banks and creditors never see or consider these numbers and will smile at you if you mention them.
Once again, if you need to know your real credit scores then there is only one website at http://www.myfico.com. If you need to see only your reports then you can use any other resources (such as freecreditreport.com, annualcreditreport.com, truecredit.com, mycreditkeeper.com and etc) |

A lot of them say that to entice you, but in the fine print it mentions that you have to enroll in something or another. Call your local Better Business Bureau and ask them. |

FUNNY , BECAUSE I JUST DONE IT THE OTHER DAY. I DONT REALLY TRUST IT . BUT IT TENDS TO BE FOR THE GOOD AND THE BAD. GOOD - YOU CAN ACTUALLY SEE WHENEVER YOUR NAME IS USED AND WHO IS CHECKING ON YOUR NAME AND HAVE THE RIGHT TO DISPUTE. BAD - OTHER PEOPLE VIEWING YOUR INFORMATION ( POSSIBLE) AND IF YOU MOVED AND GOT THE BILL COLLECTORS FROM HARASSING YOU, ONCE U UPDATE YOUR INFO ON THE DATABASE THEY FIND U LOL . SO ITS 50/50 I SAY TAKE THE CHANGE BUMP IT. I WENT TO PARTNER.CONSUMERINFO.COM |

Yes, you can received annually a free credit report but not credit score. The Federal government passed a law that makes the credit bureaus offer this service to consumers. The website is https://www.annualcreditreport.com/cra/index.jsp
Don't be confused at some of the look alikes. There are a lot of fraud sites out there. Unfortunately at this time, credit scores are not offered for free! |

You can only order your credit report (they charge for the credit score) and you cannot do it online - you must contact the company via their 800 #. If you have been denied credit all the information will be in the denial letter. |

I got mine from experian's freecreditreport.com....basically they take you to the 3 main credit buereau web site (experian, Equifax, Transunion)...It truly is a good deal that you should use every years....Once per year getting a full and complete reprt from each agency. The only bad thing is that all three agencies will then constantly send e-mails wanting you to pay for their respective reporting service or other services. |

you can get a free credit report by applying for a credit card and being rejected. you have a right under the consumer privacy act to see what's in your report
freecreditreport.com is a scam. you have to enroll in the triple advantage for 20 bucks a month to get your free report. just apply for some type of credit risk thingy and you can get one sent to you for free. why pay for something that's about you.
hope this helped you |

I don't like those companies. FreeCreditReport.com has recently come out with a TV commercial that poking fun at honest working people (in my opinion), so I wouldn't use them, especially. |
