I applied for a loan with Candian loan group and sent in a 10% deposit via money gram! I was guaranteed a loan but have yet to recieve it, it has been 2 weeks. I was told my lender had backed out at the alst minute(ya right!) I want to know if anyone has recieved a loan with this company or recieved thier deposit back! Thanks!

Well after literally hundreds of phone calls, and threats I still have yet to recieve any loan, or my deposit back, when I asked to come down to the office for my deposit, they had told me that the money was sent out and I should recieve it this Thursday. I found out thier phone number is with an internet company(non traceable!) I am 100% I was scammed. They also say they are still currently looking for another lender for me. The only thing I care about now is my deposit back I sent via moneygram like a RETARD!!
Dont believe you will get your loan the latest by 24-48 hours. They will tell you to call customer service and than tell you the lender backed out at the last minute..
If anyone recieves a loan ...let me know! |

This is absolutely not legitimate.
I work for one of the top five major banks in Canada, and this company, Canadian Loan Group, is believed to be completely bogus.
One of their "locations" has been investigated as a completely unrelated building currently up for lease in a small town in Ontario.
Many of our customers are currently dealing with huge amounts of money lost due to disclosing personal information.
Take this advice:
-Call your financial institution and place a full hold on all accounts.
-Request that alert messages be placed on your account to require that all credit applications MUST be completed in person at the branch going forward.
-Report possible identity theft.
-File a report with PhoneBusters. (1-888-495-8501)
-Call Equifax (Canada's Credit Bureau) and report possible identity theft, as well as SIN number disclosure (1-800-465-7166)
-Call government of Canada, report your SIN number as possibly being disclosed, and request a new number to be mailed out to you.
-Thoroughly review all information given to CLG (Canadian Loan Group) and make sure that you have covered all your bases.

Canadain loan group is a total scam call phone busters and make a complaint and also contact your local police to make a statement about it and as far as the rest what reputable loan group uses a yahoo mail instead of their own mail?

I have done some tracing on the phone numbers and these are all directed through rogers wireless which means they are using cells to do this from its definatly a scam... Anyone who has been taken by these ppl need to contact the BBB or Phone Busters at 1-888-495-8501 |

Sounds like a scam to me. My hubby received a check in the mail (about 6 months ago) from someone in Canada that supposedly had the same exact name as his sister, he took it to the bank and asked them about it and they took it to report to the FBI. They wanted him to cash it, keep 75% of the money and send the other 25% back to them, the check was for about $5,000. |

make sure that u keep all the paperwok given to u from these jerks. i believe that the are based out of toronto, ontario, canada. i have also tried to call the toronto police (416 phone number) 416-808-2222 for police and 416-808-8000 for chief of police. dont forget to put a watch on ur credit report by calling 1 of the three credit bureas (they all report to one another)

I spoke with Bill Daly and sent him my 10% down on Monday July 16, 2007. I have yet to see my loan, but have a waiting period of 24 - 48 hrs. I will update you to let you know whether or not I do see anything come through. I hope you get your money and I hope I do to. I did check with the BBB and they haven't had any complaints in the last 36 months with regards to Canadian Loan Group.

Okay, so I haven't seen any money yet and I was supposed to have it in my account yesterday. Bill Daly told me it was out of his hands and that I needed to contact Customer Service. When I called there I had a voice recording that said the box was full... I called again and then had a recoding from Mark Reynolds, it says that he is very busy and will return all calls today. Huh... wonder if any of us will see our money back. I can't believe they are doing this, I now have $21.00 in the back and a 16 month old little girl to care for until I get paid next friday. Nice people, makes you wonder what kind of people are out there. |

I to applied for a loan with Canadian Loan Group on July 6 and sent a 500.00 deposit via money gram the only person i have spoken with has been Thomas Baker no one else. I have called him daily and still no loan deposited to my account, and only getting that it was to be released on Monday July 16. I sent him everything they asked for signed documents, Drivers licence bank info i called the Equifax to inform them of my situation, and put a flag on my credit report. I was informed that it will be harder to get a loan because of this and this guy did this to me in a matter of days and now i have to make sure no one steals my identity.
I want to file a police report also. I wish i had have seen this page before sending money to them. On my money gram the name i was sending it to was Alex Connor who i was told was a security officer that picks up the money from the money gram office in Toronto, once he has gotten it my funds will be released within 24 to 48 hours as of today nothing.

I too was scammed about a year ago from a nother company. The truth is, and i only know this now, that anytime you are asked for money it is a scam. I never got my money and shortly after i threatened them with a lawyer i was unable to reach anyone.
once you send money to Canada, nothing canreally be done. Im sorry to tell you that I highly doubt you will see your money again, although I wish you the best of luck. |

i applied for loan with thomas baker an he also told i was approved, and the money will be in my account in 48hrs. i did not go into my account, so i called him and he said that he doesn't know why it didn't go in and i should call customer service. well i did and i have been talking to a mark reynolds and said that my deposit is supposed to be processed to me today and that my loan will be free of any down payment. he said that they are waiting for a new lender and this matter should be straightened.out. i really have my doubts. t |

As you can tell by my user name, we got completely scammed by the Canadian Loan Group. Do not send them money. They won't call you back and there is always an excuse. Report them to www.recol.ca. The police launch an investigation. I can only imagine how much money they have scammed from people. Thanks alot Ryan Burke. Imagine having 3 kids to feed and someone like you takes the last of your money. My kids now know that someone like you when they get caught, should rot in jail. |

We recently applied for a loan with Canadian Loan Group and was approved right away! Despite bad credit! I started reading all statements about this company on the Internet and discovered that this was a scam! But then you've got to find out for sure for yourself! So I called Thomas Baker and asked him to verify a couple of questions for me that only me or anyone pulling a credit report would know! I asked him what company names were on the credit report! He advised that he don't have access to this info as it is already sent to the security dept. He also wanted $1500 at first and when we advised that we could not come up with that amount he agreed to $800.00 via money gram. We were just about to put this money through until I started questioning things and realized that this was indeed a scam. Thanks to everyone who posted comments on here! You just saved me $800.00! |

I also had to send in 1000 dollars through money gram. I dont undestand why there are so many complaints forged agianst this company in regards to not recieving their loans. I had applied just like veryone else, was approved, secured a payment and recieived the funds within 24-48hrs. My sister went through the same process and she recieved her funds as well, be it after 6 days. |

I applied on the 7th of July, sent them my moneygram on the 11th, was promised the loan by the 13th at 2:30 pm and the CSR - Mark Reynolds miraculously went into a meeting that day. I left them a message every 10 minutes throughout the weekend (both he and Ryan Burke). Till this day, nothing. Mark told me the deposit would be returned to me and it was to be mailed to me on Monday or Tuesday of this week. Still no answers. I think we are all screwed. The funniest thing is, I contacted moneygram this evening in order to collect information to report to the RCMP and there is no record of the moneygram. We have to give them one credit - they are sticking to the same story for everybody. I wonder who is going to answer the phones tomorrow? I sure hope the RCMP can find some answers. I think we all need to be diligent in making sure we are plugging up their phone lines and emails to prove we mean business. By the way, my Security Officer was Walter Reed. |
