Have you curtailed spending because of the credit crunch?
and can any one honestly say that they are not affected in some way or another

I'm not affected by it at all. My job is secure and my company has just taken 10 new people on to do the same job as me. (it's a non-profit charity)
My boyfriend's job is also secure, but I could afford the mortgage and bills on my own if anything did happen to his job.
As we're currently renovating our new house, we're taking advantage of all the sales!
I think as long as your job isn't affected and mortage payments aren't a problems, I don't see why you'd be affected.

I don't want to curtail my spending any further but what can we do??

I would just love to stop paying the bills especially the £560 I just had to pay for gas and leccy!! Bare faced robbery is all it is.

The next thing to go will have to be new clothes and holidays. How depressing is that.

Here we are mid-January and nothing to look forward to but February.
Could have had a nice holiday with £560!!!!!!

See how bloody miserable I am today!! LOLOLOL

WelshLad
Before the credit crunch I was careful what I was spending anyway (I was buying needs and not wants), because I'm single with a mortgage.

Actually not really. We had planned to holiday in the UK this year not because of the credit crunch but there are a number of places we wish to see and relatives we would like to visit and we thought we would do that all in one trip. We will probably do that. However we saw a nice holiday in Tunis advertised to decided to do that as well. So we probably spend about the same amount this year on holidays as last year when we toured Turkey for two weeks.

not really found that even when the pound is devalued that the euro exchange rate is still a rip of thing is as money gets tight they just look for a different way of skinning you what we need is some good ol pulling together like in the war

Yes and I think most people have to a certain extent. I try to maintain the same lifestyle by spending less on the same goods. Internet shopping is great for this. One trick I use is to shop via cash back websites such as the one in my source - that way you get a bit of money back on stuff that you would buy anyway. It soon adds up.
