This year I purchased every single Christmas present on Amazon.com. So did my wife. We probably spent over $1,000.
If you are dealing with a major web site like Amazon, or one of the companies you have heard of like Best Buy, Wal-Mart, Circuit City etc. you are completely safe. You are at least as safe as going into a store with your card.
The most expensive purchase I made online was $3,000 for a computer. But I have also spent well over $1,000 numerous times on other computers and my watch.
Try it, you'll love it! Have your loved ones make wish lists on Amazon and then buy all their gifts online from their wish list. It's a great feeling when all your Christmas gifts arrive at your home and you don't have to fight the masses shopping at the store. |

Recently I heard this question asked on T.V. "is it safe"? The answer was "Most of the time it is but you should never use a debit card". They also suggest you only us one card for all your purchases. Have the credit card company lower or limit the amount on your card you fill is safe for you. i used it for eBay for a Christmas presents like hair accessories and lip glosses that cost at $7 and some change( S&H include and it was great. you have to check the feedback or your will get ripped off and overcharged. But it is better to use a debit card that you can get at CVS, Rite Aid, Wal-Greens and Wal-mart. |

If you want to use your cc online, the only thing you need to know is look for the padlock on the screen. Usually on the bottom right hand of the screen there will be a little padlock saying that the site is secure and then you can use your cc. I try not to use mine on anything but Paypal on Ebay. I have spent close to $1500 on electronics though. |

You can safely use your credit card on-line. Even in case of fraud - you should be automatically covered in accordance to your credit card agreement. All credit card companies have some sort of fraud protection. In MOST cases, you are not liable for anything if you report fraud within 7 days (this time frame may vary) and, if fraud is reported after the designated period, you may be charged a nominal amount (e.x. $50). This is true for most credit cards agreements under Visa/Mastercard umbrella (I believe Discover is about the same and American Express offers an even better protection). You can safely use your credit cards anywhere for purchase both big and small...It also leads me to my next point that all of these credit/fraud protection programs that banks sell that are supposed to save you from fraudulent charges are a big scam in themselves - Why would I pay $59.99 (I get these offers from all of my banks) to protect me from a fraudulent charge that would cost me nothing to begin with according to my credit card agreement?
