The only charge they will face using the debit card is for whatever the amount of the transaction of whatever you purchased.
As the other two have said b4 me you do need to let your parents know they will notice the charge when they check their account online. |

If you used your parents Debit Card without their permission you should be arrested and exposed for the crook you are. I would show you some mercy if you did it to buy some food or something critical like that, but otherwise I hope you get a thumpin' |

You need to go to your parents and tell them that you used their card, what you used it for, and how much you charged. If you weren't asked for their PIN number, then the financial system computers treat a debit card as a charge card. Either way, if you got to walk out or actually did post a charge to the card, they'll know on their next statement. You may as well let them know, beside the irresponsibility of what you did. Sorry. I wouldn't have a problem with my daughter using our card--preapproved by my wife and myself, though. Good luck. |

Normally what ever a debit card is used for, the amount is deducted from the bank account. What you did was a crime and you could go to jail. |

A debit card takes the money right out of the account it's attached to, usually a checking account. So whatever you used the debit card for, that amount has already been deducted from your parents' account. So either they'll bounce a few checks, or they'll notice it when they reconcile their bank statement.
You might as well 'fess up. What did you think would happen, that it was just free money and nobody'd ever miss it? |

Whether or not they will be charged a fee depends upon their financial institution. Regardless, you need to tell your parents; what you did was illegal. If they dispute the charge (because they do not recognize it), they might be forced to file a police report. The police could find out that you took their card and used it without their permission.
This could get you into more trouble than if you simply fess up to what you did. Your parents will be glad that you told them the truth (and it could result in a less severe punishment). |

yes they Will find out debit cards are attached directly to a account usually checking. you should tell your parents asap because if they start bouncing checks around that gets expensive in a hurry as the bank and the place were the check was written cancharge insufficent fund fees. better fess up |

Of course it will be deducted from their bank account and they will be billed for it. And, they will know pretty soon if they watch their account at all. Even if you replace the money the trail is set. |

How much did you spend???? A debit card is directly taking funds from your checking account!!! Depending on how much money you spent you could get them into alot of trouble if they have sent checks off and were depending on that money being in their account. YOU NEED TO TELL THEM RIGHT NOW!! This is not a game this is serious. They will find out and they need to be prepared!! |

They may get billed for their current balance, so most likely it is noticible. HOWEVER, a debit card is not like a credit card.
A credit card you will have to pay back for how much you spent during the month
A debit card is automatically deducted from one's (bank) accout
It is card fruaud though if you used their card, and they do have ways of finding out fraud, so good luck to you on that one. |

If you used the Debit Card at any ATM they will be charged a fee if it was not the ATM they bank with. If you used it at a retail store or to get gas, online purchase.etc..it will not charge a fee. The only deduction is what the amount was you used it for. However they will receive a bank statment monthy showing all purchases. WARNING! That is identity theft which is highly Illegal. |

If your parents check their account on a regular basis as I do, daily on line, then they will know sooner then you think, as these transactions show up sometimes in a couple hours at most 2 - 3 days and it is on there. And yes there is a charge, but less than a dollar to do these transactions. Better think twice next time...if one of my kids did this, I would have a real hard time trusting them for a long time...you just don't do this to your family or anybody..... |

Sorry Charlie...a debit card is connected to a persons checking account it'll only allow a person to take out as much as there is in the checking account. you can be charged with fraud and be severely punished. I'd advise you not to do this. If they check their account daily to see their balance they will recognize what they spent and not. My suggestion is leave it alone and if it's too late I'd put the money back in the account. |
