Start by researching consumer credit counseling services in your area. Be careful and find a reputable, non-profit organization. These people can act as an advocate on your behalf and many times lower interest or fees that have accrued or help consolidate your bills.
Don't believe anyone who tells you they can fix your credit. There is no such thing! The only way to repair your credit score is to pay your bills on time, pay down your debt and eventually your score will start to come back up. You'll have to be patient, though. |

All you have to do is stop, take a deep breath and relax.
You can legally "fix" your credit yourself. BY fix, I mean, by talking to creditors, even those you owe money too and are behind on, you can make agreements with them and in turn, have the neg turned into a poss or even removed by the creditors themselves.

You might try talking to the Hospital. My wife was in the Intensive Cardiac Care Unit for 14 days then in the hospital for 37 days. We had no insurance at the time and the bill was close to $400,000.00
I went down. spent about an hour talking to them. Told them I was going to have to declare bankruptcy. Ended up paying "insurance rates" of $170,000.00 |

The best place to consolidate your loans is your bank. Of course, you'll need to put some assets to back the loan, or the bank will ask a co-signer.
Prosper.com is another option.
And you can go with consolidation loans counseling services, which will help you, but costs a lot on the long time.

i would have to agree with the other poster about dave ramsey. Go to his website and listen to his radio show or find a station near you that you can listen to. He has lots of good advice on money and debt. |
