may be better to just save money. credit cards charge you more in the end. Everything you need... you will be able to get, in time, after saving. Sorry, i dont have a credit card.. my sister worked with many in debt, due to their " gotta have it now" & more bad choices with one...having one may not be a great idea- I know the majority thinks otherwise, and many suffer, because they cant save & have patience. The majority cant be followed- read, listen to money talk shows/ or experts first..
All that you need God can provide or show you the wisest way- & not just what looks good now, but blesses the later end of it too - rather than debt & regret. Tip: make a great plan, save, make your money work 4 u, think outside the box & you can have it all. But u can tlisten to doubters.
have a ebay side biz...its easier than u may think.
"The Truth About Credit Card Debt
Myth: Aren't there positive uses of a credit card? Like rebates and airline miles?
Truth: Responsible use of a credit card does not exist. Credit card debt is a major problem in America.
There is NO positive side to credit card use. You will spend more if you use credit cards. Even by paying the bills on time, you are not beating the system! But most families don't pay on time. The average family today carries $8,000 in credit card debt according to the American Bankers' Association."
patience..save..dont work your butt off for money..make $$ work for you..be creative, get by entrepreneurs..think big..make something, earn extra in something u were made to do..God can bless the hand of your work, give an invention, niche market..etc
I've worked on peoples debt papers cause of these cards..it just gets easier & easier to charge it, and think u can pay it later..it steals from your future..go the narrow route/not popular- not the wide route..just a few words of wisdom...
love ur life, protect yourself, build your future.. make sure you know the difference between good debt & bad debt.. god blessings as you follow the wisest route...
God shows me that...many get pimped by credit cards..it keeps you under...rather than on top & head of...makes one as a tail=under...
"a borrower is slave to the lender.." proverbs
research it out, before you jump into owing someone for life, and it depletes future needs being met. See farther than the now ;)
mother of 4, & NO credit cards!!
God takes care of those that trust in him. :)

You don't need a credit card to establish credit. I never owned a credit card and my score is 720. I diligently paid off student loans, got a job (your income has an impact on approval and rates), leased a vehicle and paid that thing off months in advance and all on 29.500 USD per year. You have to live within your means and pay stuff off with cash or debit, have your rent and monthly bills establish credit. |

The best way to build Credit, is to build a savings account.
A card that does not have an annual fee. If you pay the card each month, so you do not have to pay interest, You pay too much, for use of the card, when you could use another free. Best ratings come from _payment_ records, not from how much you owe.
A card which pays you dividends, bonus, or cash back based on how much you charge. Even if you pay the bill every month in full, you get money back on your purchases. We buy all our groceries, gas, and Home Payment with a card each month pay one bill, and get money back. Then pay for one CC bill each month. You even save on all the postage, when you transfer the money from a checking account to pay the credit card.
The card with the lowest interest you can get, we have one with 3.7% another with 4.8%, and pay the full amount every month. It is like we pay ourselves that interest, instead of the bank.
HOW you handle a credit card is what establishes good credit. If you discipline yourself not to use them, or to spend only what you can pay monthly... We travel in a Motor Home, and each time we fill up, it is $200-290. It builds credit to do so, and we get money back on this account. Not only no interest, but a discount on the gas, etc. We also use store cards in stores like Fred Meyer, where we get 10 cents a gallon off the price.
If you use them awhile, pay the bill monthly, they many times will reduce the rate to keep you, when you tell them you were offered a card with a lower rate. It makes no difference to them what the rate is, if you never carry a balance. But, then if one month you happen to pay less than the full bill, the interest is lower, making it easier to pay it off the next month.
Stores probably have "sales" to get people to buy, the majority buy on credit, with high interest rates. So the store makes more in the long run than they would selling at full retail. Sometimes three or more times the "savings" on a sale.
Keep the balance to 0, so you pay NO interest.
Credit does not work like, the more you can charge the better your rating. It is just the opposite. The bigger your main income, and the lower your balance owed, the better your rating.
Second jobs do not count, for you could quit them at any time, but use them if necessary to pay off cards. . Show you have self discipline, and your rating goes up....
Your payment record is the most important.
Never pay late, pay it as soon as the bill comes.
Open a savings account, even if people make small AUTOMATIC deposits. Deposit 1% of your paycheck. After a few months you never miss it. Increase it to 2%, and gradually increase it. Only a small percentage of people have a savings account, those who do have a better credit record.
Pay interest only on major purchases like a house. |

If you can get a credit card, I would try visa or mastercard because they usually have the lowest interest rates. You can also build credit by having bills in your name. Also, try getting a store card- like JCPenny or Macy's. These will all help in building credit. I wouldn't get anything with over 9% interest if you can find one. |

The Mosaik BMO Master Card is good. That was the first credit card I got when I turned 18 and had no credit. You even get to collect Air Miles. |
