The best way to build your credit is to get a credit card. As a student, this should be very easy, but if you are having trouble getting approved, go to your bank and ask them about a secured credit card, not a debit card. Make sure also that the credit card will be reported to ALL 3 credit bureaus. Once you obtain your credit card. Buy something that you need (not just want, but actually need), but do not go over 25% of your available balance. From this point on pay your minimum monthly payment, no more, no less. Keep making small purchases(gas, groceries, late night burritos), but it is critical that you never exceed 25% of your available balance, This is the fastest way to build your credit. Good credit is the best thing you can obtain at your age. Do your research and educate yourself on what can ding your credit score- late payments, high debt ratios, chargeoffs, ect.

What i did to build up my credit is i let my sister get a car in my name. It may sound crazy but i had really bad credit and she had good credit cause she always paid her bills on time so i trusted that she could pay on a truck for 18 months on time(with a good job) and after the 18 months were up she put the car title in her name and my credit was so much better. But If you Dont trust the person 100% then dont do it cause they can really screw you over. |

People who are irresponsible shouldn't get credit cards. Keeping it simple is what it's about w/ credit cards. Building credit> apply for a credit card> make a small purchase about $10-20 for the month (not everyday) that you can easily pay back on time (like gas, food for lunch, etc)> pay back the full on time and it shows
1. You stay under and in your limit
2. You are responsible to pay back on time with good character
and in the end you build your credit, responsibly. |

keep all credit cards at half of there use so if you have a 500 dollar limit go to 250 and then pay off the balance keep doing this. and you should beuild credit. do not over use your credit as this can get you into trouble and keep you in debt. Just use them for what you know you can pay off.
So get gas and pay it off
Also paying more than minimum due is also a great way to build credit. |

get a credit card with a low credit line to start. use it to buy stuff that you were going to buy anyways and have the money for, then use that cash to pay the balance in full. if you don't over-spend and pay the balance off in full and on time, this is a great way to establish credit keep you out of debt as well. |

The best way is to get a credit card use it but you HAVE to pay it off every month in order to build credit.. not paying off the balance every month is how peoples credit gets ruined because the charges get so big they cant pay them.. Whatever your limit might be on the card dont spend more then you know for sure you can repay at the end of the month with out a doubt.. When I was 19 I got a capital one credit card with a balance of $300 and for the first 6 to 12 months I would spend $50 to $100 on it every month and pay it right off and now almost 6 years later my limit is almost $10000. Also finacing a car and paying it off builds credit doesnt have to be new can be used. But the main thing you have to do is pay off whatever its you own on whatever it is you buy period. |

You can get a secured credit card and pay it off every month for a couple months....just use it a little instead of cash and pay it off at the end of the month, I dont have a link off of the top of my head right now. Also you could get a auto loan if you are in need of a vehicle.....these build great credit but it doesnt make much sence unless you need a car. This is what I did and in 6 months I have a nice credit file. |

two good ways to build credit are, one is getting a small personal loan and pay it off in a few months, two and maybe the easiest way for you is to get a studen credit card these cards have no annual fee and carry low interest rates. Check out www.fastcreditcardapprovals.com and go under student cards. You could ruin your credit if you do not make your payments but that could happen with any type of loans. If you are responsible and pay your bills you should be ok. |

You can get a credit card, but just be smart about it. You have to make small purchases and keep your account paid down at the end of the month. This way you don't accrue any interest or get in over your head. Anything with a monthly payment is good though. I leased a car and my credit score is up 90 points in a year and a half.... you are a freshman in college working a part time job, so I assume that this isn't an option for you. Good luck though. You could also take out a credit card in your name, give it to your parents and have them use it and pay it off... careful though, my father did this without me knowing and I ended up in a little over my head, but I paid it and all is well now. I have a credit score well over 700. |
