You can go to each of the 3 major credit reporting websites and request your credit score 1 time a year without having to sign up for anything. I do it on the same day each year.

To the person that suggested freecrditreport.com - they are not free. They charge a monthly fee for "monitoring" your credit. You have to pay at least once (before cancelling the subscription) in order to get your score/report. The report from them isn't very helpful either. It's not from all three major reporting bureaus. |

As of last year, every consumer is allowed 1 free credit report a year from the reporting agencies. Also, if you've been denied credit recently, you're automatically entitled to receive the report that the company based its denial decision on. |

Try the last poster's suggestions, but I'm not aware of anyone giving out free credit scores, only credit reports. Could be wrong, though. The only place to get your true credit score (other than possibly the reporting agencies themselves) is through http://www.myfico.com. Fico, or Fair Isaac, are the ones who created the credit score. Just in case the other poster suggestion is not correct, you can get all three scores and reports at the above website for $38 with the promotional code "CPPsavings"
I have to tell you, though, I am curious if you can get free scores through the reporting agencies, that would be great. I've only gotten the reports in the past. |
