I have the same problem, no one will give me a credit card. But you really don't need one, unless you are buying a house.
Personally I think it is wrong that we are being forced into this by the media and other services.
I think if I had a credit card it would do more harm than good as their interest rates are so high, even the more reasonable ones.
We would be better off disciplining ourselves and tightening our belts, then saving for what we really need.
Sorry, I didn't suggest any tricks
Try this, don't buy anything unless you absolutely need it.
Don't go out, if you want a drink, go to the supermarket and invite friends round.
Watch more TV, a social life costs money.
Take up some hobby, like sketching, or modelling for when you get sick of tv.
Get some old second hand games consoles, they are dirt cheap, the games are dirt cheap and they are as much fun now as they were then. |

banks &finance companies do background checkings based on ur I/D number, not address. so if they're being very strict, they can still track ur background no matter where u move to. however, credit card wise, a lot of banks are realy into the credit card business. so, they just give away cards without the strict checking. they only check your pay slips and /or banking statements. |

It depends who does your credit check! Some are made using your name, others using the address. I know that because and although my son never had any difficylties with his account, he moved to a new flat for a while and got turned down for credit because someone at the address had left a trail of debts! Although my son didn't know previous tenant ... He had to re apply using my home address.
I think the best way for you is to speak to your bank, tell them you haven't a very good history but things have changed, you now have regular income (And can prove it).
Whatever you do ... I would ask you to please not accept a credit card from some companies offering you credit with a bad record. They are sharks and should you find yourself unable to keep up with repayments, could double what you owe. So please be careful, try to rebuild your credit score.
If you visit the Rights Office they'll give you a list of credit check companies. Some of them charge you a fee to check out your history. Any debt you have settled in the past might remain on your history so you need to contact the credit check company again, show you paid and for another fee (Yes i know it's appaling) They remove your name off the black list.
Sorry but there is no easy fiix. |

yes you can there are lots of companies that will give you a credit card with bad credit but be prepared to pay very very high interest rates. which can be anywhere from 30 to 90 % i have even seen one with 100% interest. Best way to get your credit rating back up is to spend say 30 quid a minth on your card then pay it off straight away! |

There are many companies that SPECIALIZE in giving credit to people with bad credit scores. They employ a variety of techniques to "hedge their bet"... including but not restricted to large interest rates and small credit limits.
Some of them are "okay deals" others prey on the misfortunes of others, so be careful.
I would start by contacting: Consumer Credit Council, and see what they suggest.
Good luck |

Capital One will give you a card even with a bad credit history - but they give a very low spend limit and charges and interest are very high. |

You can get a credit card if you have a bad credit history. However, they will be able to check your record and certain credit companies do actually target people like you with bad credit history. Due to this, their interest rates will be extortionately high.
There are lots of tips and tricks, so to speak, to actually reduce your payments if you're still in debt. |

It doesn't matter where you live. It's tied into your social security number. The best thing you can do is get a guaranteed credit card. In other words, you deposit $500 in a savings account with that company, and they will give you a $500 credit line. Build up your credit with that, and wait for seven years for your credit to clear up. |
