You can also go to where you bank and open a savings account and get a secured credit card, which you would need to rent a car, stay in a hotel while traveling, make airline reservations, etc. I agree with the guy that said not to count on credit cards but to save your money and buy what you need; however, there are times where you need a credit card. The limit of the credit card is based on the money in your savings account, which secures the credit card. Once you've established a good history of paying on time, you can apply for your bank's credit card. That should help you out. For the person saying use your debit card - that will not help you establish credit for credit card vendors. A debit card is a check card that extracts the money from your checking account. A credit card is the money you don't have but are borrowing against and paying it back with interest. There is a difference. |

Capitol one and First Premier Bank are good ones to start with...also department stores tend to fairly easy to get as well. good luck. |

go to the Bank of America and start an account. The talk with a loan officer and they might start you out with a minimum allowance credit card. usually not more than you have in the bank until you prove reliability. |
