DON D | How can I improve my credit so that I can get approved for 30k unsecured loan or line of credit? |
My income is 60K/yr, FICO score 675, 50K student loan in good standing, visa credit card with 3000 limit 3 years old always paid in full on time, 2 old collections reading paid in full on my c. report 3 years ago (one for 761$, other 2200$).
I would like to know what would bank like to see done (ie pay part of my student loan... etc) in order to approve me for 30K unsecured loan for business related equipment? |

That sounds like you shouldn't have a problem as is but just to make sure you could always pay off any smaller debts to get your rating up. Also, don't run your history anymore than necessary or let anyone else, that drops your rating and score. |

I think you would be approved for an unsecured loan. However they might want to see your income of 60K be a littler higher like in the mid 70s. Do you have a mortgage payment? If at all possible, I would maybe pickup a part-time job and try and bump up your income. Once you're approved for the loan you could quit your part-time job. Also, do you have any other equity that would make your debt to equity ratio decrease. I would monitor my credit score just to make sure things aren't changing. US law requires the three credit agencies to give you a free copy of you credit report every year http://www.ehow.com/how_2204949_free-credit-report.html Good Luck |
