The debt by itself has nothing to do with your credit score. It is the management of the debt that matters.
If you keep your Credit Card debt under 30% of the total limit that will help your score. The closer you get to 100%(Maxed out) the more it hurts your score.
Pay your bill on time, every time. Payment History is 35% of your score. So doing this will help you the most
If you have any accounts in collections you need to take care of them. They also have a very negative impact on scores.
Don't keep applying for Credit, the more inquires over 1 or 2 every few months the more that hurts your score. This is a minor part but it still accounts for about 10% of the total.
Also, with a 590 score not sure if you will get the loan you applied for. But if you do pay off as much as you can and don't charge any more. |

How will borrowing $1500 to pay off $2500 help? Unless the interest rate is so much better... Best way is to tighten your belt, save more, and pay down that debt. Good luck. |

How much debt you have does not effect your credit score much.
-Pay your bills on time.. ALWAYS
-Establish a lengthy history with your lines of credit
-dont go over your limits or keep your balance close to your limit
These 3 are the keys to a good credit score. I have had a good amount of debt my entire life but still have a great credit score because I have never screwed up a payment before. |

First, make sure all the information on your credit report is accurate.
Second, try to pay off all or any accounts that are currently in
collections or make payment arrangements with the creditor to pay off the balance monthly.
Third, any credit card that is over 50% of the available credit line should be paid down to under half of your total credit line. Your credit score is lowered when your available balance is over 50% of your total credit line.
Finally, if you have bad or no credit and have no credit cards try to obtain two credit cards and make sure all of your monthly payments are made on time. This will help increase your credit score. If you cannot be approved for a unsecured credit card, obtain a secured credit card.
Repairing your credit and improving your credit score is a slow process that takes time. Just be patient and follow these steps and you should be on the road to better credit! |

Most times no credit record or debt record is your worst enemy. A credit record including things like buying a car, house or some kind of a long term payment plan. |

Small steps like paying your bills on time and using only part of the credit available to you. Also use your credit cards for making small payments regularly, so that it is reflected in your credit record. More tips available at http://www.acreditlibrary.com/buildcredit.html |
