I have received a package at my home address the address is mine but the name is not,. This has happened once before and i thought it was an innocent mistake but this made me suspicous (and the name was the same as the last one) so I opened it, the 'invoice address' inside is also listed as my address. Could someone have registered a credit card to my address but have an online account so we dont get the bills? i am worried incase they are running up debts and my house will be blacklisted. any advice gladly welcomed! |

Get a copy of your credit report from Experian - pay your £2 fee and check the report. If there is any entry that you disagree with then contact Experian to resolve the problem.

If you need help in resolving the problem take the report to your local Citizens Advice Bureau. |

Log onto to CreditExpert.co.uk (other credit checking websites are available). This will allow you to check which current cards (and other credit products) are registered to your address.
But, if the name is different, it might just be an error in the post code software used to produce the label on the package... |

Houses don't get blacklisted, people do in theory as it will affect your credit score, i would get a copy of your credit report to see if there are any creditors on there or anything like that plus i would also contact the company that is sending the packages to you. |

hhmm interesting. first thing comes to mind is to check with the credit scoring agencies to see how many cards you are 'supposed' to have at that address. It costs a small fee. Experian comes to mind but the citizens advice bureau s most probably a good place to get advise. |

Definitely, definitely run a credit check (annualcreditreport.com) and look for anything that looks suspicious. You get a free report once a year, other than that, you pay for other reports during the year.

Is there a phone number on anything in the package, if there is simply ring them and ask if there is anything registered to your address. They won't be able to tell you details but they will be able to let you know if someones registered something there. If they have tell them they don't like at your address and the company should sort it/ give you advice from there. |
