i was wondering how id be able to know if someone has a credit card under my name. my social security number was on top of my table in the lving room and i had a small gathering and so i would like to know if anybody had gotten my SSN and used it. so where can i check that or if my SSN was used in any way and that i dont know about
Oh crazy! This sounds like an identity theft issue. The best thing to do is pull your full credit report which will give you an exact snapshot of things that are going on with your name and credit. The first thing I would do is to put a block on your credit report
and tell them you want to be notified of any new activety. Then request your free credit reports from the 3 credit bureaus to make sure it was put on the files. You can renew it over 90 days.

First thing you need to do is contact all 3 major credit bureaus and put on a fraud alert. This is free to do this. Then what you need to do is to get a FREE copy of all of your credit reports. (Trans Union, Equifax, and Experian) They will mail a copy of your credit report to your address. If you then find anything wrong, dispute it immediately with the forms they provide. Below are links to all three credit bureaus and how to obtain your FREE credit reports.

You can get a free credit report online from FreeCreditReport.com. You have to give them your bank info but you can cancel and that way you can check your credit reports from TransWorld, Equinox, or TransUnion. Otherwise, try to get ahold of any of these credit reporting companies and ask for a credit report explaining your situation. They may give you a free one that way.
