Very true. Try to get a secured card for now, then move up to unsecured. It takes about two years to build credit, although it will slowly start to build. So, apply now and then leave it alone. Inquires hurt your score. Good luck |

Start with a gas card or your local bank's visa or mastercard, pay on time, never overspend and then get another card to build credit.
Do not get a secured card! |

Go to the bank you use and take out a small loan and use the money to pay the loan off over a certain amount of time. That is what I did and eventually purchased a home at age 21. |

It might help to have a co-signer, have apartment rental history, or a checking account. Furniture stores may also have lax credit programs, just make sure they will actually report your credit to the bureaus or it won't help at all. |

There are prepaid (also called stored value) credit cards where your balance is based on your own deposit. Then you use the card to establish credit history by making monthly payments. It works for people who either have bad credit or poor employment history. |

Start off with a Signature loan, get the loan then pay it off, then get another loan, go to other signature loan places and get loans, but do not over load you ability to pay off the loans, just get them pay them off and they will allow larger loans, etc. This will build credit history. |

Wait 6 months and apply for a departmental store card.
You sometimes have to start at the bottom of the food chain.
Also, if the lenders are all saying the same stuff, then why not get a secured card first and WORK YOUR WAY to an unsecured card when you show yourself approved.
No pun intended. |

Your better off without them, Look around you, everyone in sinking in credit card debt.
Sink extra dollars into and emergency savings account and use it when you need it. Most people get credit cards when they have too. It's usually down hill from their. |

It helps if you have a job, bank account, bills
in your name, even an E-mail address helps.
Or, you can do what I did when I didn't have
any credit history...Go to the post office and
buy a bunch of stamps and keep filling out
every credit card application that you can get
your hands on...sooner or later.......... |

Ok. The more you apply the more your score gets hit. Try this as suggestions. I have a 30 year old friend who worked for 7 years at the same job had 10k in the bank and couldnt get a 100dollar limit credit card.
you can try the following..
1)Take a small loan for a car/furniture
2)go for a secured credit card. Meaning you pay 200 up front and have a $200 limit. After a preset amount of time you get your money back but it is to make sure they can trust you.
Another friend of mine had to have collateral as he had none and couldnt build credit so he bought furniture with a 1000 dollar loan. A year after that he was able to buy his car.
My other friend who did the secured credit card now has good limit with futureshop and his credit is going great. |

Sign up for a bank and wait for you to spam credit card offers. I did that and certainly enough they came even though I didn't have any credit. |

I know some cards will ask you to put 1000.00 into it and give you a line of credit for that amount so you can build history. Ask your local bank how to get that type of card. |

Well I have been where you are and I went on line and applied for First Premier Bank which is a lower standards credit card. You might have higher APR and AMF but you have to eat it until you prove yourself! I paid a monthly fee of $6 a month with a $79 AMF which is assessed once a year! Once you keep in good standings by not going over limit or past due you will earn credibility... There are others such as Tribute and Orchard bank make sure you try to get a unsecured credit card but if your credit isn't very good and you try First Premier Bank then you will have to try for a secured card... |

Your bank should give you a check card that can work as a debit and/or a credit card. Just choose 'credit' instead of debit at the grocery store, and you should start building credit history. |
