There are many companies but they are just trying to sell you other items.
They will go directly to the credit agencies. You can do this for free once a year or whenever you get denied credit. They agencies dont make money from you and they dont sell credit to you, they really dont care. Just call and ask, they will mail, email or fax the report to you.

Commen Cents had a great thought, I will comment on that. Any mortgage broker can pull your credit. For me its 12 bucks for all 3 agencies. I wouldnt even charge you for it, the problem is that it will show as an inquiry. If you order it directly it doesnt. But it will take a bit longer. |

Call a local mortgage broker and ask them if they will run your report and how much it will cost you.
They may do it around their cost, which should be between $12-$20 for all 3 bureaus.
You can go in and get it on the spot! |

Your credit report is free for all 3 but you have to pay for your score. It costs about $8 to get your score from 1 of them. I recommend Equifax because you get an actual FICO score. After you pay for your score there are no strings attached. |

The US Government has mandated that the three major credit bureaus offer the service to everyone in the United States once each year. The name of this site is www.annualcreditreport.com.
Since it is government mandated it requires a whole host of hoops to jump through. You do not actually get your credit scores, and it can take 7-10 days to receive the information. All in all not very consumer friendly. Guess that is what happens when a big company is required to do something they do not want to do.
Here is how I got my Credit Report and Score from all 3 bureaus for free.
I went to http://faqfaq.net/FreeCreditReport.html and signed up for their service.
It took like 3 minutes! They give you 7 Days for Free to try the service.
So I just canceled the next day after printing out everything I needed.
