You have my deepest sympathy. I have been in your situation. And because you aren't working right now, there is little you can do as far as declaring a bankruptcy or paying the bills you owe. Bankruptcies cost about $1000 and up--and if you can't pay an attorney, you can't do it yourself.

Here is what I would do for now. What you need is not some debt-relief company--they are almost 100% ripoffs, and they are almost always illegally charging people to do things they can do for free. BUT--there is one agency--a not-for-profit agency called Consumer Credit Counseling--that CAN and DOES help and may be able to help you. They are listed in yoru phone book--you can find them either in the pink-edged Business listing pages or in the yellow pages under "credit". They are a non-profit organization that helps people like you contact their creditors and pay off their debt WITHOUT high fees and without demanding payment up front (which is illegal.) I would urge you to contact them immediately. They can get hold of your creditors and let them know in an official way what is happening and work out a plan so that you can ease your mind enough to go look for a job and eventually get your debt under control. They are very experienced and have a good reputation. Please contact them and ignore any "online" or "quick" relief solution places. They are mostly scams.

I wish you luck. This is very hard to deal with, I know. But you can deal with it--if you have the right people on your side.

hello broke one

you can file a bankruptcy if you are in lots of debt or the creditor will garnish money from you one way or another either income tax or other income , just call bdo or another company that specializes in debt and they ll have many options for you , remember credit is good but only if it used right people call it credit cards i call them debt cards use sparing ly and only buy things that you can afford to buy with cash ,many people use credit to buy things they cant afford or buy much more expensive things then they would if they were paying cash remember it adds up fast , but remember a bankruptcy will effect your credit for 7 years make sure you learn from this experiance we all make mistakes ,we just need to learn from them ,,,,
merry christmas and hope everthing works out for you ok

Without a job, you might qualify for bankruptcy to eliminate the debt that you have; however, be warned that it might influence a decision against you when you apply for jobs. You are correct that you cannot pay with money that you don't have. You should do something to get employed... fast food, retail sales, whatever. Something is better than nothing. Jobs are hard to get and credit is even harder. Be honest with yourself and your creditors. Some things are beyond your control. Now is a good time to increase income and/or reduce expenses.

They will garnish your wages once you start working.

From now on please note that 60% of the population pays their credit card bills in full each month. They never pay interest - they get cash back rewards.

Make it your goal never to use credit cards unwisely ever again. Do not let them use you - use them.

You might want to listen to the interview on the link here.

James can help you with this and also offer you an understanding of why you are in the position you are in and how to not do this in the future.

Best of luck to you wish this ~

Get all the possessions you value out of your house. The sherrif can confiscate them.

If you cannot pay, then declaring bankruptcy is an option. The other option is to get a low skill job to earn enough to put the creditors at bay.
