There are several things that you can do. If you have credit cards already, pay them on time and make sure that they are not maxed out. Ideally, you want the balance to be no more than half of your limit (that is as important as paying on time!) Try not to open or close any accounts while you are working on restoring your credit score. Don't apply for any new credit. Get a copy of your credit report and dispute anything bad that you believe is wrong. Obviously, if you have any collection accounts, etc pay them off if you can, but even if you can't you can still have better credit. the older a collection account or any other negative thing is, the less weight it has on your score, so the BIG picture is: from now on maintain perfect payments and try to keep credit balances under 50% of the limit.

If you have no credit, get two secured credit card (see Orchard Bank or Household bank) and then run small balances on them and make on time payments every month.

Either way, you should see an improvement in 6 months.

You should ask how on Yahoo Answers. Somebody might know.

PIGGYBACKING: Despite its' virtually
unlimited potential, piggybacking is
not used by nearly as many consumers as
it should be. It's easy, effective,
and extremely fast. Unfortunately,
it's mostly used among parents and
siblings while those who can really
benefit stay in the dark.

How it works. Almost every credit
card or credit account will allow the
primary account holder to add on (at a
later date) what's known as an
"Authorized User" or "Secondary Account
Holder". In most cases, when this is
done, the entire account history
(retroactively) gets posted to the
authorized users credit report
regardless of their current age or
credit history!

For example. If it's a credit card
with a $10,000 limit which has been
paid as agreed for the last 10 years,
then that complete history will be
posted to the authorized users' credit
report. I once saw a clients' credit
report who used this technique with his
mother. He was only 24 at the time and
he had a $15,000 Gold credit card on
his report with history going back 11
years! I laughed as I thought to
myself that this kid would have had to
be approved when he was 13 years old
for this account to be his!

As you can see, this strategy is
usually only used by parents and their
children and in most cases with no
regard to the benefits the children are
reaping credit wise! In fact, in
recent years, due to its'
effectiveness, this technique has led
individuals with excellent credit
scores to "rent out" authorized user
accounts on one or even multiple credit
cards in return for a fee! I once
recall seeing an ad in USA TODAY for
just such an opportunity. Like most
good credit loopholes, I'm sure this
methods' days are numbered much like
what may be the case with...

Ok to start obtain a free copy of your credit report. from the three major credit companys. Experian,Equifax and Transunion. Pay off old accounts and close any that are paid off and unused. Then dont apply for anything you dont need. Everytime you apply for something you take a "Hit" on your credit score. Lastly try to pay more on your credit cards. the interest is usually high so pay as much as you can afford.

takes time, make sure all bills are paid in a 3 year period then you will have a good credit score

Pay off loans.
Pay on time or before.
Don't just pay the minimum balance.
Try to get a small $300 credit card, charge $50, pay say $70. Do this every month for 6 months. Your credit will get better they will offer you larger credit cards.

The first thing you have to do is learn how the system works, that way you'll do a much better job at raising your score and keeping it high. Visit the resource below, particularly the article titled "Understanding Your Credit Score"

1. Always pay on time or ahead of time.
2. maintain low balances on credit cards
3. keep your total potential debt to earnings load low - If you have a card with a $15000 credit line, you may ask them to reduce it to something more realistic, like $5000.
4. I was told by an underwriter that having just two cards, a major credit card (VISA, MC) and a consumer card (Sears, best buy, etc...) is the best mix for revolving credit.
5. You should have a recent history of both installment or term (Car or house loans) and revolving credit.

Can you make good any of the bad credit? I mean pay off the creditors. That is a start then keep it clean, payoff your bills on time Try a non profit credit counseling service. google that and see what you come up with.

Pay more than the minimum balance, and reduce your credit below 1/2 of your limit, before you will see your score improve, speaking from experience on this one. Do not apply for new cards for at least 6 months, everytime someone checks your credit your score goes down.

I am by no means an expert at anything. But I found a website, on Yahoo! answers even...,
And here the experts have compiled more than one way to improve credit.

http://www.expert-credit-advice.com/building_credit.htm

This site gave me some hope to. It's hard to buy anything bigger than a cd player without credit.. I've also noticed a difference in the way people treat me when I'm shopping, if I say let's put it on the card, they smile and remember my name the next time I come back.
How odd is that? But whatever I need to do to "get some help around here."

by paying of old bills and starting to pay off new ones and to build it up you should try to get something in your name and keep it payed off or finding a lawyer to wipe your credit clean cause it is some out there
