You shouldn't spend a whole lot repairing your credit. . Usually companies charge hundreds of dollars to simply pull your credit and send correctly worded dispute letters—this is the key…..people will tell you that you can do this yourself for free but the truth of the matter is that the credit bureaus will throw your letters away or simply reject them. There is an easy to use online kit that will deliver the results you want available for just $19.95 at the source website. A similar kit is being sold via infomercials and radio talk shows for seventy dollars more but they try to solicit you repeatedly for other services after the fact. |

The best thing to do is to call those who you need to repay and work out a payment plan. It may take some time depending on your $$ situation but at least they can start reporting to credit agencies your payments. I would not suggest using a credit repair service because that can go on your credit as well which could add to your stress in the future.
Get a copy of your credit report from all 3 agencies and make sure there are no other issues with you credit.
After you have repaid the bill, contact the 3 agencies and make sure they have the updated info. Keep all of your paperwork showing the dept paid and cleared. |

Bad credit drops off of your credit report after seven years and you can't have anything taken off of your report unless it is inaccurate. But don't use debt-management companies because they will trash your credit, and credit-repair companies are largely scams. Try to tackle your debt and begin to pay it off as soon as you can. I also recommend that you buy or check-out this book at your local library: "Total Money Makeover" by Dave Ramsey. If you are willing to take control and make some changes, his advice will help you get out and stay out of debt, and get in control of your finances! |

My Aunt went through the same thing, she tried to get a loan and it would not go through because of medical bills. My advise I told her was to get her free credit reports. Make sure everything on there is from you. Contact the hospital or if it went to collections call them and negotiate with them. Tell them that you will pay the debt off if they fax or mail you something in writing that when you pay the amount in full they will take it completely off your credit. If you just pay it off they could still leave it on there as just paid and it will have negative remarks on there as well. |

Here are some easy steps you can take to rebuild your credit.
First, make sure all the information on your credit report is accurate.
Second, try to pay off all or any accounts that are currently in collections or make payment arrangements with the creditor to pay off the balance monthly.
Third, any credit card that is over 50% of the available credit line should be paid down to under half of your total credit line. Your credit score is lowered when your available balance is over 50% of your total credit line.
Finally, if you have bad or no credit and have no credit cards try to obtain two credit cards and make sure all of your monthly payments are made on time. This will help increase your credit score. If you cannot be approved for a unsecured credit card, obtain a secured credit card. |

Normally these loans are more expensive than those offered to borrowers with good credit. The interest rates are higher because the lender bears higher risk. Adverse credit loans have more stringent repayment criteria than normal loans. Skip one payment on a bad credit loan and your rate will rise and you may even have to face a foreclosure. |
