How can you fix your credit yourself without paying someone else to fix it for you?
looking for a way to fix my credit without paying a credit repair company to to do it

There is a ton of information already on the net to teach you this stuff! Credit repair companies do the same stuff you can do yourself.

Start by looking over the links I posted below.

depends on how bad it is.it will still take some time for your score to comeback up even after everything is fixed. it took mine over 1 1/2 years after I fixed them just with 1 mistake about a past due acct(open acct reported as installment acct that was never even late but got reported as 90 days past due Their mistake ) and one bad debt( dentist bill ) Have you seen your credit report ?

try to lower your credit cards ballanceat 50% or less that would help your credit score, try to renegotiate your collections accounts(if any) and pay them.

Credit repair companies are a waste of money.

First, set up a strict budget. Cut out all the extras -- cell phone, new clothes, eating out, premium cable and internet. Take every penny you can squeeze out of that budget and put it on your highest interest rate debt, while making minimum payments on the rest. When that highest interest rate debt is paid, go to the next one till they are all paid off.

Then go to old negatives. Negotiate settlement on them one by one. Get the settlement in writing and ask them to remove the negative -- some will and some won't.

If you work at it, you can clean up outstanding debt in 2 or 3 years. Once you have that cleared, it's just a matter of paying everything on time. And not charging on credit cards more than you can afford to pay in full at the end of the month.

yes it will take time and effort on your part -- first you down size - every thing you have your can not live with out goes -- cell phone, internet service. cable tv, car if public transportation is available. car insurance. than you take this whole wad of money and start paying bills. when you are debt free you stay that way. take time but you did not get in debt over night.

I have been to "many" different credit repair sites on the web. Some were pretty good and some were pretty bad. I refuse to use a website<!--that requires a fee to get their credit repair info when there is great free sites on the web.. I'm listing the best site that I've ever been to.

http://badcredits.awardspace.com/repaircredit.htm

It is a "free" do it yourself credit repair site. I have learned so much by reading and asking questions on that site. And, I have seen "significant" improvement on my credit reports after learning-->my rights and using them.Don't pay for information that you can find for free.

You can fix your credit by paying your bills on time. You should communicate with your creditors as difficult as it is. Be honest and follow through on promises or call them if you cannot and explain.
