First, get a copy of all three of your credit reports. See what is on them. Cause what might be on one credit report, might not be on the other, and vice verse. You might have some things on there that is not suppose to be on there. Dispute the things on your credit, therefore, the things that is not suppose to be on there could get deleted off, and that is a good thing. The things you can't get off, try to pay them off. Start with a credit card for people with not so good credit. Like Imagine mastercard or something. Make sure you make your payments on time, and before you know it you are rebuilding your credit. Then you would be able to apply for cards like Discover, other Visa, and Mastercards. Remember, all three of your credit reports are different. Different credit companies look at different credit reports, you just don't know which one. Thats why it is important for you to know what is in your credit report. Because beleive it or not, credit is serious. A secured credit card is a good start to rebuild your credit too. |

Follow these simple guidelines to help restore and improve your credit score.
First, make sure all the information on your credit report is accurate.
Second, try to pay off all or any accounts that are currently in collections or make payment arrangements with the creditor to pay off the balance monthly.
Third, any credit card that is over 50% of the available credit line should be paid down to under half of your total credit line. Your credit score is lowered when your available balance is over 50% of your total credit line.
Finally, if you have bad or no credit and have no credit cards try to obtain two credit cards and make sure all of your monthly payments are made on time. This will help increase your credit score. If you cannot be approved for a unsecured credit card, obtain a secured credit card. |

Well credit cards can turn you down for multitude of reasons. One of them is if you get a certain amount inquiries as to your credit status they can turn your down. I have had that happen to me when I had good credit but I had four or five agencies trying to access my credit score.
Also if you want to clear up your credit report. Get your credit report and pay off your debt.
Yes if you do get a credit card and do good with it it will give a boost to your credit rating. But it won't work miracles. If you owe some one money that will still reflect on your report and determine whether or not you can get a credit card. etc |

Only time can help you improve your credit scoring. paying bills on time is the best way to do it. Unfortunately, paying your rent, elect bill, phone bill on time does not get reported. you really need a credit card to prove that you pay your bills on time. The answer is in your question, the secure credit card is the best way to start. They charge you money to use your money, but it is the best and quickest way to rebuild your credit. Get a small one like a $500 and use it and pay it off not in installment. Paying it off all at the end of the month will not be as good as paying it over time. It shows that you have a steady income and a good budgeting. Paying it all in one payment tells the bank that you do not have a stead income but instead you have money coming in every now and then. It is really complicated methods used at the bank, but doing it the way I mentioned will get you on track in six months or less. Good luck. |

pull up all 3 of your credit reports and contact the companies that say you have debts and address them directly if that doesn't work there are companies that will help you with this
