How do I get my credit card company to lower my APR?

I believe all you have to do is call them and ask them. If the say no (which is unlikely) tell them you will go somewhere else. The DON'T want you to go anywhere else. Give it a shot. Good Luck : )

Talk to them and ask them what can they do. If their answer is nothing tell them that you will be transfering your balance to another company very soon.
It got one of my cards apr lowered by 8%

CALL AND TRY CANCELING CARD THEY WILL OFFER LOWER RATE TO KEEP YOU LONG AS YOU ARE CURRENT WITH PAYMENTS

From my experience, just call periodically to see what they can do. Otherwise, if you can afford to (and provided u've been in good standing), threaten to transfer your balance and close out the card. They still want your interest payments, so I'd assume they'll most likely try to retain you.

gET A NEW CREDIT CARD WHICH OFFERS A SPECIAL DEAL ON TRANSFERRED BALANCES AND THEN TRANSFER YOUR CURRENT BALANCE TO THE NEW CARD. cREDIT CARD COMPANIES ARE EAGER FOR NEW CUSTOMERS, SO THEY OFTEN GIVE YOU A SPECIAL DEAL ON TRANSFERRED BALANCES.

The best answer is don't bother. It does not matter what the APR is if you pay your bill in full every month. All of my credit cards charge me no annual fee and I pay my bill in full every month. What does this mean? From the time I make my purchase until the time I pay my bill, I have received an interest free loan from the credit card company. If you are spending so much that you do not have the money to pay in full when the bill comes and have to worry about the APR, you are asking for trouble down the road. If you do it my way, you will save money every step of the way and have an excellent credit rating as well.

Seriously, just call and ask them. But be wary of accepting a lower "Adjustable Rate". Alway ask if they can give you a lower fixed rate. Should call them every 6 months to a year to see what they can do for you. But they will only usually do it if you are in great standing with them. Oh, and do not let them pull your credit to do it. Make sure they don't.

crazy8tiger
You can't. Try to find a different credit card.

Most advice here is good. Just call and ask for it. There is an excellent chance you will get some break.
