How do I get the creditors to stop calling?
My fiance's creditors (NCO Financial, Canada) keep calling my parents house asking for him. I have told them SEVERAL times that this was the wrong number. They have my fiance's number but don't even bother trying to call it! They just keep calling my parents house. My fiance has been paying off his student loans, I am assuming that they keep calling to try to get more money.

Is there any way to get these annoying idiots to stop calling my parents house?

Have your parents change their phone number to a new unlisted number.

I strongly suspect that your finance has monetary problems he hasn't told you about. Have you considered running a credit check on him? They become YOUR debts, too, once you're married. Something is profoundly wrong, here. Audit flags have popped up and are fluttering in the wind.

I think if your fiancee calls them and gives them and talks to them and works out a deal they'll stop calling.

call the company and give them his # and ask them to remove your parents #. they have to respect your parents wishes whether they want to or not. are you sure that he is making his payments??? if not that's why they are calling, if he is making the payments and they keep calling your parents home then you can sue them. yes sue them. i work for aspire visa emerge, tribute gold and aspen. my company kept calling the people in n.y. so many times that they filed a lawsuit on my comapny and WON!! the state of n.y. won up in the millions too. you can make them stop calling your parents..ask any attorney. good luck to you and your parents.

yes. send the company a written request that you no longer be contacted at this number. they are supposed to stop when you tell them on the phone, but most companies ignore this law. the written notice is proof for your sake, so keep a copy, and a record of when you sent it, get a receipt at the post office if you feel the need. By continuing to contact you, they are breaking a law in the Fair Debt Collection Act. You can report this company for this violation, check with the Better Business Bureau to get the correct department to speak to.

You can get these calls stopped almost immediately. Advise the collector that their calls to either telephone number are inconvenient to you and that they must cease all telephone contact immediately. It is best to send this demand in writing by certified US Mail. Advise them that any further contact must be in writing.

You have these rights under the Fair Debt Collection Practices Act. You should document any calls received after your demand is made, and (if legal in your state) record the agent, getting him to state his name and company. Then advise that any further calls will lead to a substantial lawsuit. You have the right to seek substantial damages if they ignore your rights.

Collection Agencies can be stopped. If you have repeatedly told them on numerous occassions to stop calling and they continue to call, write them a letter. If a week passes AFTER you have sent the letter to them and they continue to call, file a formal complaint to the Consumer Frauds/Consumer Affairs Bureau at your Attorney General's office in your state. With a copy of the letter you have sent along with the the report of how many times they have been told to call the RIGHT number the Consumer Affairs/Consumer Frauds bureau will get them to stop.

If your fiance is paying on the account, tell them that he is doing just that, and if they contact you again that you will have no choice but to deem it as harassment and any further contact from them without a legitimate reason will result in you taking a legal approach to matters make sure you get the name of the operator calling you and the name of his or her supervisor, they hate lawyers and will probably back off.

Pay the bills...

Actually, if it is the wrong number, and they are told not to call again, it is actually ILLEGAL for them to continue calling.

If your parents tell them next time to stop calling AND that they know what the companies are doing is illegal, they'll stop calling.

Have your attorney send them a letter.

next time they call say OM Gosh you haven't heard - he died !! act like you are crying and say don't call back
Or just tell them you no longer take his calls and if they call again you will get them for harassment

Never ever talk to a collection agency. They are strangers to u. Any inch u give they get inside and spoil ur peace of mind. They go to the extent of calling ur relatives, office, etc.

So stop the snake at the gate. Do not let them in. Its perfectly legal, The arrangement is between U and ur credit card company, the company has no right to bring in strangers in between U.

Go give a police complaint. Give criminal complaint that ur old age parents are being harassed, criminal intimidation etc. Also give the number from where they are calling. Let the police officer handle their calls. Keep a lawyer in hand.

U will be better off.
