Just having one payment sounds like a good idea, but all too often it is not. People consolidate their debt for a lower interest rate. The problem is the time to pay off the loan is extended which means you actually end up paying more.
A better solution is to get yourself on a written budget. Give every dollar a name and a mission. You'll be amazed at where your money goes. I was.
Because I am on a written budget I can keep up with bills and pay more on my debt. Try this before consulting with debt consolidation or equity loans. |

You might try meeting with a credit counselor. A nonprofit agency is preferred to one that you might see on television.
An unsecured loan for $30,000 is not a realistic option for most people. A credit counselor can help you understand your options and show you how you can get lower interest rates, either on your own or through a debt management plan. If other options are more appropriate, then they can discuss those with you as well. |

He doesn't use BS tactics, he just makes you realize that you will have to make some sacrifices, but that if you budget your money properly you can pay off your debts and save money for emergencies. Today you can use bad credit personal loans for many purposes like car purchase, vacation or even debt consolidation.
But if you have some assets to offer as collateral, your chances brighten. The primary reason why people with poor credit history do not get loans is because the lenders are scared that the borrowers will default again. But if you can offer collateral, your lender is secure in the knowledge that his money is in safe hands. You have to try and meet the repayment schedule, failing which you lose the asset.
