Poorly and worse-and-worse. They are generally sinking deeper and deeper into credit card debt. If they can't afford it they get it anyway and put it on their card. |

pay your bills on time and try not to exceed over your living expenses. if you only make a certain amount a month try not be a crazy and get something that you can't afford. paying your bills on time will cause you to handle your debt and being in debt is not a good thing because you will be paying people back for the rest of your life. |

All differently.
I am a don't spend what you don't have kind of person.
We saved and bought items WHEN we had the money,
This instant gratification is rampant in all countries and needs to be stopped.
We pay cash for cars. I have great difficulties in hearing ads that never mention the cost of an item but instead say things like ,only $200 a month, or 3 years to pay. |

Personally, I try not to have any. Credit cards are paid in full each month, vehichle notes are paid off as early as possible, and being debt-free is a goal (and my current status). ☺ |

isn't it obvious? we don't !!! We just ignore it, and let it grow and grow until we're so deep in debt that you'd need a bulldozer just to get a veiw of us... We let debt pile up like laundry in a dirty 6 yr olds room. |

A more succinct question would be how much will power do Americans have. Certainly, waiting 20 years to buy a home in cash is unwise and borrowing makes sense. borrowing to eat a pizza and make minimum payments makes the $10.00 pizza a $30.00 pizza. That would be unwise. As you can see by the responses some americans spend and don't worry about it and they will never have any money. some americans don't spend and they live a financially stable but relatively boring life. ( if I am going to pay tax on a soft drink to drink it in the warm comfort of a restuarant rather than eating in a cold car then so be it.) So there are more or less common sense guidelines. My opinion is totally differant. Borrow money if it will make more money back. Makes sense to me. buy a rental property with $5,000 down and it will make $450.00 a month profit that will make the car payment instead of putting $5,000 down on a car. |

Americans keep on paying their credit through out their life. They buy everything on credit....house, car, etc. and spend most of the years paying it. |

We ignore it and hope that it will go away... |
