Not sure of the spcifics, but you should not accept a $20.000 GIFT from a firend out of a fund provided to him to live.
Sounds like he it blowing his trust fund. |

Is this a friend you only know online? If so, beware, ESPECIALLY if he wants you to send some of th money back. That's a hallmark of one of the major scams going around currently. Fake checks or money orders, the sucker cashes it and sends real money back to the con man. |

I hope this isn't a new friend that you met online....If this friend is from "Nigeria," every alarm bell in your brain should be going off...Almost all internet check cashing scams originate from Nigeria, so be careful....If someone online has asked you to cash a $20K money order...but first you have to pay them a fee....this is a scam...
FYI: If you cash this "money order" and spend the money...and this does end up being a fraudulent money order....your bank will hold you liable for every penny.... |

There are better ways to transfer that large sum of money.. and the charges for money order would be very high..even Paypal which would go to your checking account would be better .. but any money over ten thousand will cause an investigation..

Anyway, deposit it in your savings/checking account. You wouldn't want to cash it and walk around with $20,000. |

listen to slimick, it sounds like you are being set up to spend some time in the lockup, take it to your bank and wait for it to clear and for them to verify whether it is real or not, otherwise get used to bread and water and soap on a rope |

First of all, you cannot get a $20,000 money order, they have limits, second of all, he can just tansfer themoney into your account by calling the bank, third of all, why would you accept that amount of money from a friend?????? Later to hear he is broke! |
