there are plenty of people out there willing to offer free financial advice. But most companies are willing to adjust payments to what you could afford. presumably you can pay something back if you are thinking about getting a loan? Speak to your creditors immediately and put them in the picture, I'm sure they will be sympathetic.

Take the other answerer's advice steer clear of loan sharks, they would just make the situation worse

I'm assuming uk here. The back of exchange and mart is full of them! Be very careful with loan sharks you could find yourself in a worse position than you are in now.
I think 15000 would have to be a secured loan, not unsecured.
Without any details from you such as why you want the loan it is difficult to advise you. If you need the money to cover other debts, there are probably many other ways of resolving this, in which case you should speak to citzens advice.
Otherwise, go and speak to a financial adviser often known as mortgage brokers, they won't charge for an initial consultation but they are in a position to advise you best, and have numerous facilities to find you the best deal for your circumstances.

You don't want to find one. Try getting a loan from a family member or friend. You don't have to ask them for the whole $15, 000, you can split it up between them.

The interest on a £15,000 loan shark loan would be completely crippling.

LMAO, I just realised that it would probably end up being crippling in more way's than one ;)

Anyway, I can't help you find a loan shark, if I were you, I would obtain a few grand through credit cards, and if I still needed the £15,000 loan, just try again in a few months.

P.S. Dont apply at loads of places within days of eachother! It will put a lot of 'checks' on your file, and you will be rejected for fear that someone has just stolen your identity and is trying to get as much as they can.

What do you need the loan for?

Have you tried Provident, if you're in the UK? They're not quite loan sharks, but their interest is very high anyway.

Edit: Wait a mo', that won't do for you, they only go up to £500!
Whoever you go to, be very careful, loan sharks just want their money, they wouldn't care if you were dying, they'd still want paying.

Lisa-listen, you don't want to do this. A loan shark will not only take your money that you owe, but "intrest" also and could be as much as half of your loan. then what happens if you can't pay this money back in time...they hurt you?? to give you so more idea's--Insurance policy, loan at work against a 401K,credit card advance payment, your family.,sell all your gold jewlery (1000.00) dollars an oz. now.- sell something worth that much. All kinds of ways but honey, no no loan shark. Try some of theses, then we will think of more...Carol

It's not for me to tell you what to do or what not to do, but actively trying to find a loan shark seems rather foolish. Moreover, if the bad credit references really were caused by your ex. then you should file a 'Notice of Dissociation' at all the major UK credit reference agencies (Experian, Equifax and CallCredit). This notice alerts anyone searching your file that you and your ex have no financial ties. It's fairly complicated as to whether or not you can be counted as 'financially responsible' for the debts which have caused the bad rating in the first place, and the best thing to do is to seek advice from the credit reference agencies themselves. If you can sort out your credit file, you might well find that you can get a loan from a mainstream credit provider such as your bank.

I wouldn't be irresponsible enough to actively recommend a loan shark. Try to sort your credit file out first.
